No and i never want to read it or watch the movie. Don't want to sound mean but try to read something that is true like the bible. plus when the man wrote the book he said it was fiction but now is try to say it was all true soom on the man needs to make up his mind on what he is going to do. well thats just mine opinon and millions of other sorrey if i ofend anyone on this site talk to u later.

Dan Brown never claimed his information to be valid as far as I know. He stated it was fiction.

Its a fairly accepted fact that the Bible has been revised, cut, and expanded upon over the past two thousand years. The First Council of Nicaea, which was shown in the film, was a real event, where the bishops met to discuss the nature of Jesus and his divinity.

Further, the King James Bible has often been criticized for its poor translation and the theory that King James himself oversaw large scale censorship of portions that contradicted English law.

You also have to take in the fact that several books were left out of the Bible, because they were considered contradictory to the teachings in the other books.

In the end, the book and film are only popular fiction. Brown took an idea, played around with it, and made millions.

novacrash im not at all closed mined but the Bible is something that is there when i need it.it helps me through hard times and someone try to make money off a book or a movie that goes against it that make me mad. Plus no i was not there 2,000 years ago there are doc. and proof that he was real Also the part about him being human yes and it does matter if he wound not have come and lived a sinless life and then died on the cross u would not have a choice on where u go when u die and there for would go strait to he11. So u see he died because he loves u,me, and everyone on the earth’s plus the thing i do agree with u on is the message did mater in every way. O because he never was married and if u are talking about the pic. with all the disciples and the girl was john the apostle everyone should know that they always made john with no beard, classy and if it was married then where was john the 12th disciple. Even if I am wrong I don’t think i am i have nothing to fear but if im right and u have not taken the lord in your heart then u do have something to fear forever in hell.

Actually, to the christian people, what was said of Jesus in the bible is barely an 8th of what he did entirely. If you wrote down everything Jesus had done then the Bible would be thousands upon thousands of pages long. However, the people who wrote the bible were only told certain things to write down for only people to understand the message of why the people and Jesus did the things they did.

The bible is not a science book, it's a book of teaching wisdom and understanding. However, it also tells how God is a Merciless God, but that's another story.

Anyway, this Da Vinci Code is fiction and will never be true. Christians and scientist alike can even agree to that.

P.S. - No I'm not a christian, in fact I hate the religion. Sadly my dad is a christian so I know a bunch of bullshit about it. Not to mention athiest actually know more about the bible then a large percentage of would be christians.

I got bored reading and so skipped to the end bit so what i say may of alredy been said. (sorry)

Dan Browne states at the beggining of the DaVinci Code the sections that are true, i havn't got it on me so i'll try to remember...Its something along the lines of, all cults in this book are true as are the details about them. (not actual words but o well.

There was something else to but i got distracted, i'll look up the page it would be in the first couple...

Right, The Bible is not to be taken litterally except by fundamentalist Christians, (Which are in a minority) Mainly Christians are conservative, they believe that the Bible should be interpretted for us by a member of the Church. So that really rules out (depending on what section of Christianity you are from) the question of it being true or not, indeed some Christians (liberals) believe that the Bible was NEVER intended to be taken litterally therefore we should never just believe everything and we should look for the message behind everything. To you "He was Human" No, He wasn't, He was apparently the Son of God, (This is the only thing that is always believed) and as such was an ethereal being, He was the Virgin birth and descended from the immaculate conception, He was not human.

I do however agree with your "Its the message"

The thing about the DaVinci code is that it has facts in it, but details about those facts are changed to suit the story. Some facts were even dead wrong.

The part Sophie takes the Madonna of the Rocks and uses it as a shield? In the Louvre, The Madonna of the Rocks isn't even the Salle de Etats. It's in another section, and the actual picture that would be there is much to heavy for anybody to pick up by themselves.

Also, something that was said before was the Priory of Sion is a group made of by a French man not to long ago. It has nothing to do with the Knights Templar.

And another messed up fact. Silas, the Albino killer, couldn't be a very efficent killer if he ws truly Albino. Albino's eyes are not properly formed due to the mutation, so few of them can drive a car, let alone kill a man from a distance in the dark.

Seriously, The DaVinci code isn't real, wasn't meant to be real, and the only reason the Catholic church put it on the index, not because it portrayed secrets about the religion that they had tried to keep under wraps, but because it portrayed Jesus in a less than devine light, and found it heretic.

Brown clearly stated it's all fiction. Well duh. Just because he used some facts thrown in there doesn't mean he tried to alter the truth (for as far as it's believed) about christanity.

I guess it was risky to write about because all the people taking offense in what's supposed to be entertainment, but that's why it's so good, too, I think. One of the best known stories set fake in a fictious story.

Brilliant.

But fictious.
