Do not double post, if you are going to answer your own question put it in the post do not make a new post for it.
As for story, I prefer FFX story most of the time. I enjoy FFVII, though FFX actually moved me to tears, so it gets the win just by actually being able grab my emotions. But I enjoyed the religious aspects of the game that played throughout and believing blinding versus finding your answers and having faith. And they took a cue from Miyazaki with the whole thing about Man versus Nature on some levels. FFX had a lot of things going for it that I enjoyed.

I really enjoyed the storyline for X. It was entertaining all the way through and even had some twists throughout the story. It is emotional at the end and I loved it! What a lovely story. Haha I like love stories, tragic ones. ^_^ Final Fantasy VIII had a nice storyline too.

Any storyline that involves and develops the majority of 16 main characters, along with a few side characters, is awesome in my book. Final Fantasy 6 does that, and more. Final Fantasy 6 almost seems like two books, with the World of Balance being the first, and the World of Ruin being the second. Or maybe a series of comics. *shrug* Either way, it drew me in the most. Maybe I'll get a little bit more indepth about it later, but right now I'm not finding the words to describe it...

In terms of the poll, I'll have to vote FFVI for the same reasons Mr. Taco Man up there did. The game really had defined storylines for all fourteen main characters, as well as a handful of others. It fully developed storylines for ten of those fourteen -- Terra, Locke, Celes, Edgar, Sabin, Setzer, Shadow, Cyan, Relm, and Strago. How many other FF games can say they had ten fully developed storylines... let alone ten playable characters? FFVI was a game ahead of its time.
Of course, my REAL vote goes to Final Fantasy Tactics. If you haven't played it, I can only say one thing... play it. Even if you can't get into the gameplay, keep playing. The story will draw you in. So much betrayal, so many lies. Your world gets turned upside-down over and over again. It's deep. Another game not on the poll is FFXI... from what I've seen, the storylines are touching, realistic, and absorbing. You get caught up in something so bad that you have to keep playing to find out what's next. It, too, deserves to be on the poll. Shame there's only a maximum of ten options.

I really don't like to compare the stories. I like them all for different reasons. Although if I had to choose I would proabably choose FF IV. I just really like that game. I just think the characters in the game were awesome. Plus the music is really good in that game.

Viii because The story was so complex and you see Squall change from this ignorant loner to someone who will give up everything for the one he loves and the friends hes made. His world is turned upside down by not just having to be a seed and destroying a power hungry sorceress to realizing the only person who has understood him is possessed by her. He is realizing who he is and where he came from only ending up finding out hes known all these people he finally trusts have been with him since childhood. The whole stry was so cool. I finished it in like...3 days bc I did it day and night, I couldnt stop.

I think that FFVII has the best storyline of all. Especially considering that they've made a movie to continue and end the story, finally. It was the most drawn out but it never let anyone down. ^^
FFVIII had an okay story. It has the most complex storyline ever, I'll give it that. |

I have to agree with Squall333 there, I prefered FFVIII's story but FFVII's was so much cooler, especially in the way they portrayed Shinra. Big companies of today take heed, about destroying the planet not being crushed with a meteor
