Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion

I rented this game a few days back and really would have to say I like it, you can do so much. I almost find it to be a more expeansive version of what Fable is, more serious though but still I like it. There's tons of job classes and things you can do from joining dark cults to becoming a vampire and living your days out as one if bitten. Well I have only scratched the surface of this game, I was wondering what do you think of the game, and what classes do you use, is there anything you really like or dislike about it, if so then let's talk about it.

Comparing it to Fable is just not right at all. Eldar Scrolls is so much more than Fable could have hoped to be. This was true of Morrowind and it is certainly true of Oblivion.

I got it when it came out and I've been playing it as often as possible ever since. The new radiant AI system truly is wonderful, and the graphics are simply stunning. I do have a few things that miffed me a bit. The lack of spears and medium armour for one. That and a reduced ammount of guilds to join...plus a lack of smaller villeges that can still be called villiges. Other than that though, the game is improved from Morrowind by a lot. Bloody brilliant.

I only mentioned Fable because way back when Fable was in the works Peter Molyneux specifically said it was going to be a game that changed the industry and there would be everything and be the most expansive and innovative game. He said it would make people see how all games should be and though Fable is a wonderful game I just feel it's like a lesser version of it, like this game is what it wanted to be.

I didn't like Fable at all, so naturally, I'd have to agree with you on that. Eldar Scrolls > Fable. Even in the case of the lesser Morrowind.

My mate has it, it looks amazing, i haven't played it myself, but i was shooting the shit out of americans on Halo2 (X-Box Live) and i was kind of watching him play it.

He was picking locks at the time, the next time i saw it he was being attacked by goblin/orc looking chaps. He was shooting a crossbow at them at point blank range. (i think he is a tad lacking on the strategy front)

Nonetheless the game looks great, i have played Fable, it is too short for my liking, but i have always preferred the specialists in the genre, the sort of games like:

Diablo, Icewind Dale, Baldur's Gate, Morrowind et cetera et cetera

I saw the adverts for this and it looked real good. I would try it out but I don't have an x-box nor do I want one. I have been looking for a good RPG, Baldurs Gate in particular (I have the ps2 games but no) as I have heard nothing but good news about it. I would like to play it but yeah...

It is a great game. I own it and it is by far one of the greatest in the Elder Scrolls series. Graphics are uncomaprable to that of earlier games. The Storyline is nice, simple and easy to follow. I just wished had been a bit longer. I enjoy the fact that you can take part in guilds... as one could do so in Morrowind, but now you can join the Dark Brotherhood.

Other key factors one would point out about this game is its Vampiric side of the story. Unlike in Morrowind... you can actually crouch down near an unsuspecting sleeping victim and bite them on the neck. However... the longer you go without blood, the stronger you become and the easier you die in Sunlight. If you have just bitten a neck and day roles around... you can walk freely into the daylight without harm from the sun, but will have fewer Vampire abilities.

The replay value on this game is so incredibly high. I can only say that I have a couple different files on my HDD so that I can try a warrior, stealth or magic type to my liking. I love the stealthyness they implimate into it also. ^_^

Some of the cheats you might notice in this game are actually quite unique. The duplicating trick is by far the greatest way to make a quick couple of $$$ early in the game, depending on what item you duplicate.

Other than that... anything else I would have to say would best be described by getting the game and trying it out a bit... wether on 360 or PC.

I'm just wondering but how many hours do you suppose it is, because I've just barely played it, and was wondering what I should be ready for. Plus no sites I look at give me a straight answer for just beating the game.

You do all know that you can get Oblivion for computer too right? Believe it or not, not everything revolves around consoles. Sheesh.

Yes, I know. Besides... believe it or not. I ooriginally tried to put it on my PC, but... to no prevail. I would of loved to just allow my computer to push this game nonstop, but... 'nope,' it says. FFXI is well enough on its own on my computer. I don't need another game on. I believe that my video card wasn;t that great enough to allow this game to play. And my computer is fairly new. >_>

Look up Gamefaqs. They can give you 'straighter' answers than I myself could give you at present. But... aye! 28 hours isn't all that bad for what I have completed.

Just cause you're going to get it for PC doesn't mean you'll miss out on graphics. If you PC is some amazing machine that knows how to force out the picture... you'll be fine. But like I said... my computer is fairly new... not even 1/2 year of age yet. And in my professional opinion... 360 is the way to go on this game.

Fable didn't turn out, at all, like Peter Molyneux had hoped it would.

Fable just blew, IMO, but whatever.

Theres no medium armour? WTF?! That was my favourite type! Especially in Morrowind - except I used custom Samurai armour from a bunch of mods (just checked my morrowind install -i had about 150+ installed) instead of standard armours.

I didn't used spears that often, however, so I don't see that as a huge loss.
I'd much rather get Oblivion for PC, though. RPG gaming that was meant for PC on a console is just terrible, in my opinion.
