You guys try to beef up your posts a little bit, otherwise this kind of stuff could be asked in the spam thread. State why you like it, why you don't, favorite songs, etc.

I like Green Day, but I'm not an avid listener. I listened to some of their stuff back in the 90's, and just heard some of their more popular songs this past year, and it didn't sound bad at all. I'm a Rap/Hip-Hop person myself.

I believe Boulevard of Broken Dreams won MTV's Video of the Year last year (which is pretty good for a television channel which has a dominating rap/hip-hop genre now). I've also seen a lot of magazine advertisements for their songs being made available as ringtones, and on itunes... so they must be popular.

There was a thread about this like... a month ago? Oh well. It was a long time ago, I guess...

...anyhoo. Green Dave... they're okay. I think their stuff before this past album was probably better, and that Warning might have some of their best stuff yet, but I've never felt particularly inspired to go out and buy an album of theirs. Although I own 1000+ Miles of Fun or whatever, and Dookie (when my brother got married, he and his wife had two copies of those CD's, so he gave the extras to me.) Actually, I suppose Dookie was a fairly cool album. Maybe better than Warning. *shrug* Maybe I like their early 90's stuff best.

I enjoy listening to Green Day. I have a couple of their albums and they have plenty of songs I like. I used to listen to them a lot back in the 90's. My favourite songs would include; Warning, Minority, Jesus of Suburbia, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, Wake Me Up When September Ends and Holiday. There are other songs I like back in the 90's but I won't write them in. I am not emo but I do like their new stuff. It's enjoyable and catchy. They have been together for a long time now! I remember seeing them on television when I was younger. They're a great band.

Uhh...what? I am lost. LOL

Anyways.... I know this is gonna turn into a "You like green day-you suck" thread, so I will just post once and get it out of the way.

First off, I am not emo. Most of Green day's hardcore fans, atleast in these parts, are completely not emo. Regardless, who cares? What does that have to do with anything? If you like the music-great! If you don't-great! I don't know why people have to fawkin stereotype everything. Drives me up the wall when people are like that. Prejudiced bastards...

SO, with that said, Green day is awesome. I first heard them back in like 1993 and have enjoyed them ever since. I own their entire record collection, and I am not disappointed with any of it. Sure, they are not musical visionaries, nor are they ungodly technical. That's not really the point. Music is supposed to be fun, a reflection of one's self, and meaningful to the listener. It is to me.

I have enjoyed their old work, and have thoroughly enjoyed their new work. d Some people say they sold out, I ask how. They won grammys, so they can't be as horrible as some think. Their sound is clean, simple, and fun. And thats what appeals to me.

American Idiot is great, Kerplunk is great, and Warning is excellent. Thats my opinion. So thats that.

The sad thing is Plastik is most people I've seen have only gotten into green day when they went into mainstream bullshit. They aren't that talented, they've become hypocrites to what they teach, and they've destroyed their punk sound. Now that they have adapted to the new wave shit sound everyone loves them. I actually have to say what music they had has been destroyed by this popular move. Sellouts is a perfect example of what they are. Billie doesn't even play his own solo's, which is even more pathetic. Once you get on MTV you're instantly famous.

Oh and Plastik, Grammies I do believe are won by how well you sell your records...which has nothing to do with being a good band. It's all ****ing ripped from the start. Old stuff was great, new stuff has gone down the drain. And yes I have listened to it, it was nothing special. I just got a "Meh" out of me. Especially in jumping on the "Bash-politcs" bandwagon shows how sell out they are. Even Sid, from Sex Pistols, said they weren't punk. There's nothing wrong with success, but the way you attain is shows who you are. In this case, mainstream trash.

Though I'm not gonna tell you what to listen to, just pointing out their bullshit.

As said...Old = Good, New = Bad.

green day sucks balls - a bunch of polished pop garbage. just another hit making machine - or TOOL if you will - for the major labels.

dookie sucked

their "rock opera" or whatever is a ****ing joke.

kids, please turn off your radios and start listening to real music.
