Cool

wow! you even sent a screenshot of the battery, excellent. blowfish, your addictions to old games could get other people into them, good job.

anyway, have you ever heard that japanese hackers hacked ff2j and made it into ffx with everything in it, like the blitzball minigame, the sphere grid, battle system, characters, etc?

yeah - i haven't been able to find a rom i heard they did the entire game from beginning to end, complete with blitzball and the magic sphere system. i'd give anything for a shot of an NES FFX.

there's just something so... special about 8-bit final fantasies. nobuo uematsu's 3-notes-at-one-time compositions, that thick pixilated text, those old school character sprites... i dunno - it moves me somehow, even moreso than say FFX on PS2 did.

You would only be able to get it in a Japanese pawn shop. Cause they didn't release it outside of Japan. So I'm going to say unless your in Japan then no. Else your going to have to go to ebay for the Japanese version or find a hacked cart in English.

i've tested both games, everything works just as smooth as my FFI official cart and saving works like a dream. anyone considering using this service (i know LocoColt was thinking about it) i give it my full recommendation!
They even have a fully-translated copy of Earthbound Zero. I miss my NES, folks.

Seriously you should sell them on e-bay, here in NZ I see copies of FFVII Non-Platnium going for 100$, image how much the original NES games would go for lol. Well I never had a NES nor played 1 as I grew up with a master system and then a mega drive. But I would love to own the originals, I beat the ps1 versions but they just don't feel as good.

That's cool. FFII and FFIII can be played in english in 8-bit. It makes me want to see if other games were relese like this.(Like the old Fire Emblem games.)

They all look great! Your guy did an awesome job there! I have some questions about SMB2, but I think I will send you a message on that sometime instead.... especially since it's not thread related.

I'm glad they're releasing FFIII in 3d, but I wish they'd do a sprite version too for the GBA or something. I'm a huge fan of sprite RPGs.

That is so freakin' awesome. I have to try this. I know I can play FF2 on my FF: DoS, but I love to play the games in their original glory. Well, I guess this doesn't qualify as totally original... But it's close. Besides, I have never played FF3 like it was ment to be played, and based on the upcoming DS version, I probably never will. Tell me, are there any problems with the game? Like, does it run slow sometimes or anything?
