I work for a construction company that builds high end housing. I do a little of everything really. Mostly carrying shit around and cleaning up though, but I do get to do quite a bit of carpentry. Im almost 21 and I've been there scince I was 15 so its all I really know as far as work goes. Speaking of work I've got to get up and go there for four days in like 2 hours. I stay most of the week cause its so far to travel. )= Should sleep.... cant. Getting a raise tommorow though so thats good.

Well I work as a Quality Assurance Tester at Volition working at the moment 70 hours a week for two weeks. And then I go down to 40 hours for a week and then back up to 70 hours for another two weeks and then who knows. I am making 8 dollars an hour, so that is like 30 hours of 12 dollars and 40 hours of 8. I just fear if they decide to go to like 100 hours. They said that they did not want to make us do that, but if the game is not ready, we stay until it is finished.

I have like just enough time to come home and visit the forums before I have sleep to wake up for work. Some life I have right now, but hopefully it will be the gate way I am looking for.

I haven't got a job just yet. I graduated from high school last year and now I'm doing a Tafe course. Certificate III in Education Support. It's a course for becoming a teacher aide. I will be able to help the teacher out and help the children if they are having trouble doing their work. I have been told it's a great job but it's very popular so hopefully I can get a job when the time comes. My friend is doing the same course as me which is cool. It's boring study but I'm sure it'll be worth it in the end. I will start work experience sometime after Easter. Hopefully it'll work out for me!

^Hahaha. That's hilarious.

Eh...? You make money from playing? Dammit... I've been playing five years and nobody ever gave me money for it. I'm turning street musician!!

Hmm, lets see. I look after a child and a household from 10.30am to 11pm for money now and then... It sucks. I wanna get paid more.

I'll be working a Saturday job in the Summertime though. Should be interesting.

I feel you, to an extent, though I think you work more than I do. oO;

My job is long hours running around a hot kitchen getting shit done, and it can be very, very stressful. Spend a few weeks in a kitchen, you'll quickly figure out why most chefs smoke, drink, and curse a lot. oO:

The Cardinals also play a ****load of home games this season, with many homestands. I've worked every day since Saturday and I don't get a day off until Tuesday, at which point I'm off for 3 days before going back for another 11 straight days, haha. Then I get like 6 off and do it again, it's ****ing insane.

I have 11 straight days off sometime in May, though, at which point we're taking a trip to the Lake of the Ozarks, so sw00t!

Well uh, I work at Sears as a "Sales Consultant" for mattresses, doesn't that sound fun? I also do MCA work (MCA=Merchandising/Customer Assistance) So I basically do two jobs, I should be getting paid more it is my first job and I've almost been here for six months. I've also done cashiering but I still had the same job title. I've basically done almost everything, except management of course..I guess and I've only worked here since Thanksgiving 2005.

My jobs are terribly, horribly exciting. >.>

During the summertime/winter breaks when I'm not at college, I work at home in a locally owned movie theater. I'm that girl who takes your tickets and works at concessions and cleans up theaters. Sometimes it's actually a surprisingly hectic job, because you would not believe how angry some movie goers are. Angry about popcorn or something. I was once on my way to clean a movie theater that had JUST emptied, and there was a lady standing in front of it telling me how disgusting it was while I was standing there with the broom and stuff in my hand...people are kind of crazy sometimes. And stupid. My faith in humanity drops a little bit sometimes when I work. Hahah. I only get 7.50 an hour there.

When I'm here at college, I work at this Clinical services building. I do have a desk job where I sit and listen to interviews between two people, and then type them up. Yesterday it took me an hour to get down ten minutes worth of interview, so it takes a while, but it's really easy. The woman who has hired me just says I can come in any time I want and for however long I want because they don't have a ton for me to do at this point in time. But I went in for an hour yesterday. They're giving me 9.00 and hour to do this. Pretty simple stuff, and I get to sit and pretty much relax the whole time. Not too bad.

So yeah. Nothing too exciting here.

Me? I am a assistant cake decorator. Which means I do the cake decorator shit cakes. I decorate hundreds of cakes with simplicity an basics, and get them out infront of the public eye as quickly as possible. The difference between me an a cake decorator , is a cake decorator speacializing in doing cakes that people ccome on a order. They are more complex cakes. Basically I work an 8-10 hours shift making every kind of cake from marble to white, and doing icing , borders, and of corse design. It is more fun than taking orders because I can create my own design to look however I please. My favorite cake I ever did was a white/white buttercream 1/2 sheet with red cherries an a perfect border. Nothing gives greater satisfaction than the art of design! Before that I started off as a stocker in a bakery, and did multiple things at one time, and it was hard, but the benifit of being where I am now was so worth it

I only work during breaks from uni. I work in a Christian bookshop nearby, been there for 3 years now. I love working there. Nice people. Easy work. Incredibly flexible.

I might get a term time job next year when I'm renting a house. Possibly in another Christian bookshop in Exeter ^_^.

So I'm wondering, if you dragrace for a living, WHY you only think it's a couple thousand to win? I'd think someone who does it for a living would know the exact payments for placements and the entry fees needed, so on and so forth, for each and every race they'd be in.

Because, you know, you have to PAY to race. Plus upkeep on the car, fuel, ect. It's a huge investment up front, and if you suck, you LOSE money.

Are you talking about working the Oil Fields? My other cousin is doing that right now. KILLER pay, but incredibly SHITTY work apparantly.

One of the people from my work is going there, and they can't even sneeze without throwing their back out so I'm curious to see how he's going to fare out there. I think I revel in people's pain a little too much. Well... just the people I don't like!

Anyways,

I work for an automotive company. We make the seats for a high end SUV. But with gas being what it is price-wise, people arn't buying these fuel pigs so much anymore. So our company has been hit hard. Not to mention the price of the rising CDN dollar. It was .91cdn - 1.00 US, hasn't been that high since back in the 70s.

So we're losing money left, right and center. My particular plant is shutting down, but I got a transfer to another one. So it's all good. For now.
