I'm not talking about 'Extraterrestrial life', when I say "We are alone and we always will be" I meant it in the sense that there is no God on this planet, not aliens. I agree with you though, aliens probably exist, and who knows, maybe 'they' have already visited us.

How is that theory more plausible than the other one exactly? They're both equally impossible to prove at this point and they both also have 0 evidence supporting them (not that it's even possible) at this time.

And by higher power, I meant any force, even if it's our genes doing it.

Free will is more plausable because it does'nt involve an unseen entity such as God. There are so many choices we can make. It's impossible to know that our genes 'make' us go in a certain direction through life. If I wanted to I could jump out of my window and kill myself, but I won't........I made that descision, and I can still change my mind. Free will exists.

I do believe that we have 'free will'. We are not machines or robots 'controlled' by anyone or anything. Everyday we make choices, and each choice that we make affects someone or something, including ourselves. And in many cases, choices are made upon what we've been taught. But to think that our everyday choices have been predetermined, I don't agree with that. We are all where we are in our lives because of the choices that we've made as I stated in the thread 'Fate'. For example, those of you that are still in school. You have a test coming up, and you have the choice to either study or not. Depending on your choice, you will either get good marks on the test or you won't. Of course there are times when one does study and still doesn't pass, but the choice is still there. I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you have the ability to choose between things, then you have free will.
