Be verb complicated word. You can use it almost with every word so it conjigation is different than others...

But lets don't think lot of that...

Vät is ending of the walk verb.

Walk ~ kävellä

When you conjugate walk verb in they form it is

they walk ~ he kävelevät

so yes, vät is bolded for that you see conjugating...

Ps. I'm not home in weekend so I answer after the weekend so be peacefyl and wait for the answer...

By that said, I will replace him for the weekend. Let's just hope that he doesn't get angry. So feel free to ask questions and I can answer them, IF I understand that

But to say... I think that Finland is finally starting to get known. Maybe it's because of our success in the Olympics, or because of Conan O' Brien he's a god.

And I saw valentine89 saying something like this: I got killed by a coconut. I understand that it was a joke, but here it is in Finnish: Kookospähkinä tappoi minut. That's probably it.

What the fuck? Since when is Conan O'Brien Finnish. Last time I checked he was Irish and proud of it.

Oh. It's because he visited Finland this year. Everybody was so excited and everything. And it all happened just because Conan looks like our president. He did re-election commercials for Tarja Halonen, too. No offense, but I have to say, that Americans are very poor at pronouncing Finnish words.

Does that suprise you? Finnish isn't even close to the same language. It's not even of Indo-European classification. Of course it's hard.

Here's a question: Is it true that sentence structure is ignored and that markers are used instead?

For example, let's say that the mark X shows which is the topic. So the sentences:
I(X) love her
and
her love I(X)
and
love her(X) I
etc

Are these eqivilent in the Finnish language?

Am I suppose to be good at pronouncing Finnish words?

Don't think I've come across a time when I needed to. English works for me.

Yes, they are eqivilent in finnish but they means diffenent things like in english.

But if we are talking about voices rising in the end, we don't do that. Our speaking level is on the same level all the speaking. It doesn't matter is it a question or just normal sentence.

I'm not expect that you will learn fully about Finnish. This is just because you wanted learn Finnish. If you don't want learn, you don't have to. I know that you can't pronounce Finnish words good but Finnish people can't either pronounce English words fully complate.

Next...

Swedish and Finnish aren't even close. Finnish isn't even part of the Indo-European class of languages. You might as well compare Swedish and Turkish.

Oh, I must join Jin in the Finnish learning. I have a computer program that's supposed to help me but it only teachs words with no help for grammer.

So may I ask about the future tense? Is it true that it does not exisit in the same sense as in English? I've read in some places that it doesn't exisist at all, if that's true, what's used to indicate an action taking place in the future?

Explain the change.

When maker is I, verb CAN change its form like BE verb.

I can ~ Minä osaan
YOU can ~ sinä osaat
HE/SHE can ~ hän osaa
WE can ~ me osaamme
YOU can ~ te osaatte
THEY can ~ he osaavat

This is how you do it: remove end TA and then double letter A and then put normal ending like I teach before if you remember.

Of course there is verbs that doesn't change form like that:

Roll ~ pyöriä

I roll ~ minä pyörin
You roll ~ sinä pöyrit
he/she roll ~ hän pyörii
we roll ~ me pöyrimme
you roll ~ te pyöritte
they roll ~ he pyörivät

As you see when he/she rolls we take out letter Ä and double letter I. Others are normal: Ä away and normal ending.

So now you know how to verb works in preesens: remove last syllable and add ending. If it doesn't sound right, double letter and add then ending.

And the time thing...

We don't have future, we use preesens form when we are talking about what is going to happen in future.

We talk ~ me puhumme
We are talking ~ me puhumme

Can I give you little homework Jintatsu...

Here it is: conjugate verb

Sit ~ istua

I give you little advice: this is normal verb so you don't have to double any letters...

I wait your answer in next post.

Homework, haha.

Sit ~ Istua

minä istuan
sinä istuat
hän istuae
me istuamme
te istuatte
he istuavät

I was a little unsure if I was supposed to drop any letters before adding the endings. Please correct any mistakes.

I guess this it wasn't that easy that you think...
I tell you that remove last syllable and then add ending. Letter A at end is this word syllable.
Like this:

Sit ~ Istua

I sit ~ minä istun

Sorry, that I forget to tell how syllabication works in Finnish. It's not same like in english. Sit verb goes like this

S-i-t ~ is-tu-a
c-o-m-p-u-t-e-r ~ tie-to-ko-ne

As you see we have couple of letters in one syllable.
If we do that in english it goes this way:

com-pu-ter

But for "homework": try again with these new advices.

Sorry again that I didn't tell how syllabication work in english.
