Better graphics is not going to get fans a remake/sequel alone. Although the term "remake" ingeneral would be the same game just updated graphics and sound. Which is why I've always said I would back a well-developed sequel, and not a recycled game that has already been made just with better eye-candy.

I can't honestly think Squenix is just gonna jump-start the FF:VII sequel project because fans want better graphics? They will have something new on the table besides updated graphics.

But again -- that's why I edited my post above stating what a remake brought to the table by definition. FF:VII doesn't need a remake, it needs a sequel which had the same magic as the first one.

FFVII doesn't need anything. Not a remake. Not 3 sequels. Not 3 prequels. Nothing.

oh, a Legend of Dragoon remake would be really nice, but I'd much rather see FF7 remade... I used to drool over the thought but it became old news really fast.

These are easy questions to answer...
1. Why remake it with better graphics?
a. there are many people out there who still play FFVII and there are enough that if SE made a remake with better graphics THOSE people alone would be enough to justify the expense of making it.
b. there are alot of people who haven't played FFVII and won't because of the graphics (i mean come on they look like horses with their hoove hands) and I know this is true because i have a friend who bought it and won't play because the graphics suck. These people would also contribute to the funds
2. Why not remake all the games with better graphics?
a. there's simply not enough demand for the other games to be remade.
3. Heck why don't they only remake games and never make new games?
a. that is not at all what they were getting at. ports are sometimes ok and if people will buy it, why should they stop?
4. Better yet why don't they only do FF7 over and over and over again?
a. again, $$$. it's simply because they can, and they will continue to milk this game




now on to how I feel.....


I think that they should remake it for PS3 simply because seeing some of those fights that you've done so many times with kick-ass graphics would be awesome. And I'm not a graphics whore, a game could have the best graphics ever and if the gameplay sux I'm not gonna like it...but good graphics don't hurt. That is why i could see them remaking FFVII on the PS3

good gameplay + classic + remade with badass fighting = saaaweeeeet

a. that is not at all what they were getting at. ports are sometimes ok and if people will buy it, why should they stop?

There still making new FF games arn't they? FFXII.... and from what there saying FFXIII is going to be on the PS3 and XBox 360 I think, anyhow...

If they do Remake it for any system at all, it should be the PSP, mainly because the PS3 is going to be able to play PS and PS2 games, so you can still play FF7, but only at home, so why not make it portable? see that makes more sense doesn't?

I wouldn't be down for a FF7 sequel/remake on the PSP. It's too great of a game to condemn the graphic experience to that of the PSP. Which don't get me wrong, has great graphics for the little device, but a new FF7 game deserves to be on the console.

And it will, if it ever is remade. More than likely the PS3 -- because whoever doesn't own one when the remake comes out, will.

It wouldn't be condemned on the PSP. The graphics would still be better than the original, it would be portable and it doesn't need to be on the PS3 just to please the ever growing number of graphics whores.

I would totally go out and buy the remake....

It won't happen though. If they remade that whole game, with that level of detail, it wouldn't come out until 2021.LOL. By that time, it would all be blown over, and noone would care anymore.

I think the demo looks beautiful though. Maybe in a perfect world....

I think if you asked the masses, not the just the population of TFF, you'd find they'd want a console-based FF:VII remake.

Personally, portability means dick to me. I'd prefer playing on the big screen any day.

I think you'll find if you ask the masses, they'd want SE to stop messing around milking VII to please fanboys and make easy money and actually make some proper games.

When I think of remake, and add a competent game making company, then I think of the few mistakes that FF7 had being fixed, the graphics being updated, and then the fight scenes being made awesome, as in Advent Children. However, the only problem I can think of is that the atb system is a bit dated, and then square would have to change it, and the chances are they'll screw it up

Well that's what it's all about, FF7 fanboys demanding more and more FF7 stuff and SE happy to oblige since it's easy money.

And I like VII.
