| | Flinn once again found himself playing the role of spectator as everyone was occupied. Once the one known as Decay had made his exit, Kaleb was open for business. Flinn made his way through the the mass which had gotten up from their seats to watch the spectacle. Flinn had just gotten through the wall of spectators when Kaleb called him out. "Ah Kaleb! Oh I was hoping it was going to be one of your ladyfriends. Even though I'm not much of a fan of legs, I guess it'll have to do. Maybe this time you won't drift off." Flinn moved with the melody that seeped into his mind. His steps flowed easily as he circled Kaleb. His attention shifted towards Decay once again as he fell back to the ground. I can't watch all the stuff going on around me can I? Not while Kaleb has that table leg. Well I guess the only way to keep my self focused is to white out everything else. Flinn takes a battle stance as he initiates one of the skills he has learned from the monsters he has encountered over the years. The wind picks up pushing open the grand doors and dancing through the chamber they revolve around Flinn, whistling slightly before spreading throughout the room. In moments the wind solidifies until there is nothing but white. The sound of the orchestra stops and in its place is the sound of rushing wind. There that's better. Hope the others don't mind. It won't last for too long. Hopefully long enough to confuse the opposition. Flinn listens to the noises around him trying to narrow down the closest one. There that should be Kaleb. He thinks as he throws a right hook and follows up with a left. | ||||||||

| | These bastards and their tricks. Blindsided by a guy I had the drop on. You're getting old without getting old, but now is not the time for a narrative. Kaleb took the right hook square in the jaw, and rolled with it to his right. ducking under the following left, Kaleb uses centrifugal force to give more force to the eight pounds of solid oak he was swinging at Flinn's head. Not one to be caught with such a telegraphed move, Flinn readily blocked the blow with his forearm. What he had not seen coming was the raw force put behind it. Pain was little, but there was no way Flinn was going to stop the momentum. Jumping backwards with the blow instead of pushing into it, Flinn bounded back nearly seven feet before landing solidly. "You're strong." "And you're tricky. Let's just hope you can keep those coming, or els--" Kaleb was cut short by what sounded like stampeding cattle. The duo looked towards the large doors to see their cattle, a varitable Dust Bowl of rocks sped towards them. Flinn and Kaleb both jumped back, letting it pass by. "You are going to mess around and knock this bloody house down, Side!!" Flinn smirked and turned back to Kaleb. "Menage Trois?" "I'm going to end up liking you too much to beat you with this thing." | ||||||||

359 | Maybe the one known as Decay wasn't lost thought. A red cloud had been hovering where he had been sitting, as to wether or not this was the only thing that had formed... it was all that Side had noticed. Anything else the man might have been looking at would only be a figment of his memory. "You are going to mess around and knock this bloody house down, Side!!" Words shouted at Side as he made his late appearence of the night. If there are few things in the world that Side had not much cared for, being yelled at was one of those things. He could easily apologize for such an unseen initiative, but instead... the man known as Kaleb took first assumption and yelled at Side regardless. I was going to wait, but now... you seem to have attracted my attention. Side spoke with a frustrating sounding voice as he neared his way to Kaleb. Unaware of his name at the moment, Side slowly began walking to this man and then suddenly started to charge at him as he faced the one known as Flinn. Not wanting to completely blind-side him, Side made his charge to Kaleb less swift and a little more flimsy in hopes he would hear him coming as he came up behind him with his spear in hope he would be given more of a challenge. Even if this Kaleb fellow only had a table leg... a weapon can still be just as affective as the weapon it clashes with... if used properly. With Side in close enough range, he swung the Poetic Night at his right side with his right arm in a full clockwise motion and prepared to bring the Poetic Night's Damascus blade downward at Kaleb's head as he caught the lower part of the shaft with his left arm to give the strength behind the spear a little more power. Now... do you really have to yell out loud at this grand occasion? The yelling seemed to bother him a little more on this night due to the fact that Side had hoped that this would all be just a lovely dinner party. The spear that he brought along with him would only be for show if this invitation were only for a dance. The wind had he had been kicking up would only been apart of a slight magic trick as well, unfortunatly... Side did not enter the Gala upon the shear force of wishfull thinking.

1,077 | The Demoness used her blood techniques well. She was indeed skilled in this, as Anomaly had known well from the past. It meant she was finaly going to get serious about this little display. As she charges forward to make her attack, the first swipe is blocked by the Gauntlet of Kalibas. Without a moments hesitation, she then strikes to his left, but this is parried by a simple flip of the Blood Reaver in the Anomalists hand. As the two swords meet a few trace amounts of the sword are eaten away as the spirit of the blade feasts on the makeup of Shira's sword. Half knowing what was coming and half reacting out of instinct, Anomaly flips into the air just as Shira twirls behind him. He avoids the attack meant to impact his back. In mid-air, a terrific rending of fabric is followed by the appearance of two massive raven like wings. Anomaly spreads these, and hovers, a smile clearly visible under his mask from below. "Come and get me," Shira said sweetly. "Don't mind if I do, my lady..." And he would've too, but at that moment one of the other demonstrators unleashed a potent assault. A rushing wind fills the room and almost nothing can be seen or heard. Anomaly curls in on himself, before generating a gravitational barrier to protect himself from the onslaught. Well that is a handy trick indeed... Deprived of his own sight, the Anomalist extends his left hand and uses the Eye of Kalibas to see what exists beyond the veil. There is movement in that maelstrom, but instead of capitalizing on it this instant, he uses this reprive to rise until he stands on a chandelier. As the spell dies down there is more action below, but his dance partner has been left alone. Again, this would be something he would use to advantage, if not for a sudden jolt. There is darkness and terror...a taste of rotting flesh and a scent of blood. It is too early for such things. With a small exertion of his will and a glowing of the Blood Reaver, the dimension is sealed off. A simple 'Remove' spell is used and all is as it was... Looking down, his eyes lock with Shira's. "My lady, I must apologise for my brief absence. I'm afraid our little jaunt will soon be cut short. But by all means, in the meantime, let us enjoy ourselfs to the fullest!" Seven brilliant orbs of gravitational energy crackle into life before the ankh tattooed on the Anomalist forehead. With a gesture, he sends four balls of force whirling through the mansion to impact with the other participents in this display. The other three remain with the Anomalist as he drops at break neck speed from the chandelier. They follow in behind him as he brings his sword down for a spectacular series of swipes and slashes, as the spells themselves seek to smash into Shira's already occupied flesh.

| | So the over-versed swordsmen had "made".... well, they were spheres. One for everyone, which is nice, because sharing had never been a quality of Kaleb's. And one was heading right for Kaleb. Let's see if I still have those little league skills... Kaleb wound up and was able to slug his designated sphere with astounding power, but was suprised to see the sphere had hardly moved. It was nothing but force, and Kaleb was only able to win a few feet on it. However the sphere moved quite slowly now, like a dying ant struggling to fulfill it's purpose. Flinn and Side were still in the process of dodging their spheres, who still had life to them. Side had just thought to parry the sphere away with his spear, and Flinn was still, honorably, running and dodging this death-sphere. Kaleb looked back to his sphere, which was very near to him now. It came in contact with his stomach, feeling like a large weight on his body. Now.... which of these two.... The tricky one. Definitely the tricky one. Kaleb pushed the sphere away from him with his hand, and watched it try to make it's way back. He took a step back, readied his batter's stance, and waited for the opportune moment. And then it came. Side stood still and readied his spear to redirect his attacker, with his back to him no less. And then Kaleb swung. The ball of force just went. Kaleb had no idea he would get that much impact. And as far as Kaleb was concerned, Side was taken care of. Deciding it was time for him and the leg to part, Kaleb now turned his attention to Flinn. Winding back, Kaleb hurled the leg at Flinn, not caring if it connected. Kaleb followed it up with a full-speed charge at Flinn. Let's just hope I don't kill anyone. Headmaster would be pissed. | ||||||||

238 | (OOC: Sorry, I'm a little slow at times...) Shira quickly jumped back out of the path as Shane fired a powerful wind from his yari, uprooting marble and sending shrapnel out in all directions. Without much thought, she used her swords to smack away what shrapnel had come at her and sent it flying back in the opposite direction, not caring where it struck. "Watch where you're aiming that thing..." Shira hissed at Side. "...unless you want a piece of marble sticking out of your skull." Shira then looked up to where Anomaly had flown and was now standing on the chandelier. She watched as he created seven orbs of energy and sent four of them at the others who were battling. Anomaly then dropped back down before her and came at her with another attack, sending the last three orbs towards her at the same time. His movements were swift and fluid, but she was able to quickly shift the sword in her left hand into a blood shield, doing her best to block and dodge Anomaly's sword, while willing the mass of the shield towards two of the orbs that were coming towards her. As the orbs hit the blood shield it changed the direction of the orbs and sent them flying past Anomaly into the wall and ceiling, causing two massive explosions on impact. The blood shield then dissipated and Shira dashed away from Anomaly as the third orb came towards her then quickly slipped behind a pillar as the orb approached then jumped away just before it made contact, causing a third explosion. Shira then took advantage of the cloud of dust from the last explosion and dashed back towards Anomaly, leaping into the air and flipping towards him with her sword held out as it sliced through the air. 359 | Side had to stop through the process of his lunge at Kaleb. The gravitational Orb destined for Side was only feet away from his current position. As he regained balance from his slugish charge, he had only enough reflexes to put up a small shield of air with his right hand holding the shaft of the Poetic Night just strong enough to deflect the larger segment of it. Unfortunatly... the shield was not able to deflect all of it. As the deflected part of the orb flew off into the marble floor, the other half slammed dead into Sides Left arm. Now Sides left arm had an entirely distorted feel to it, only partially damaged in a physical sense, the arm itself would of been completely destroyed if it hadn't been for Sides surprising reflex, but however... it would remain useless for the rest of the night. "Watch where you're aiming that thing..." As the demoness hissed at Side Uhhh... damn it... so be it. Side shrugged as he attempted to overcome the overwhelming pain in his arm. Regathering his senses for a second time, Side noticed the swift disruptance of the air from Shira's blade. Remarkable movement that almost Side himself would almost have trouble hearing. Hmph... Gonna hiss at me huh? Side took strong hold of his spear once again and readied himself for different maneuver. Although not common in Sides history, he decided to help Anomaly out a bit. Side didn't care much for being hissed at either it seemed. Side placed the tip of the blade of his Poetic Night a top the marble flooring and applyed a little trick of hand to his next move. The Yari was motionless as it balanced perfectly by the blade on the floor. A gentle air hastley made its way towards Shira and Anomalys location. Before Shira's Blade had a chance to make contact with the Anomalist, the stream of air that had been pushing its way across the floor had lunged upward through the smoke to meet Shira's Sword. I hope she enjoys that little trick. With his left arm numb and motionless, Side picked up the Yari with his usable hand and made yet another attempt at attacking this Kaleb person. Instead of doing anything fancy this time, Side decided to make it a nice clean check mate with the Damascus blade aimed forward at Kaleb. And as dead as his left arm seemed, Sides charge at his target was still a well balanced attack... not to slow and not too predictable. The Blade was only pointed outward as it was in hopes to use another trick to his advantage. Last edited by Shelus; 04-04-2006 at 07:34 PM.

1,077 | Deep in the recesses of the mansion, an old ornate grandfather clock tolls the hour. After the twelth somber chime, the Anomalist lands, and removes his mask. "That is enough...the masquerade is over. I thank you ladies and gentlemen, and hope you have a pleasant remainder of your evening." Bowing, and tucking his mask under one arm, he takes his leave, fading into the shadows. Last edited by LocoColt04; 04-06-2006 at 11:07 AM. Reason: KERBLAM! (signature removal)
