Final Fantasy XII Flies Off The Shelves in Japan

After a week on the market in Japan, Final Fantasy XII managed to sell an impressive 1,764,266 copies, taking the top-spot on the sales charts. It sold more than double the second-place game, Nintendo's Animal Crossing: Wild World.

Final Fantasy XII's sales, though strong, weren't quite good enough to match the first-week numbers of the last regular entry into the series, Final Fantasy X. The tenth entry into the long-running franchise sold 1.8 million copies in its first week on the market.

That is extremely impressive. Wth is the hold up again? I mean if the japs' have it now, then shouldn't we have it in like 3 to 5 months or so??

Anywayz, that's an awesome sales mark for the game, now we just need some reports from the japanese peeps playing the game.

Wow, that's a lot of copies sold in one week. I hope it isn't as bad as some people have said it is. As I was reading in the other thread before, some people dislike the battle system, music and camera angles. People like complaining don't they? Haha. I'm sure it will have an awesome storyline and it'll be great fun. I'm looking forward to playing it.

Meeeee toooo! I haven't been excited about buying a FF game since FF IX, but I'm looking forward to this one. Maybe it's because it's make it or break it for me and SE. If FFXII sucks (in my opinion) like X, X-2, and XI did... I won't be buying anymore Final Fantasy games.

no the system is fine with me. but the game is slightly more challenging for sure. gets you thinking o_o the maps in ff12 is really huuuuuuuuuuge

I am not surprised at all by this. I kind of figured it would sell like water in the desert. It is just a matter of time before we read the same article on our own respective shores. Just have to wait is all...

Not suprised it hit number one.... Suprised it hit that high of a number, but I guess that's a sign of hope that it will not be a bad game.

i sorta downloaded it *whistles and rolls eyes* but uh aaaaaaanywho... well its kinda like really finalfantasy-ish...but not that finalfantasy-ish at the same time... xD the new battle system changes everything coz before u were like pressing a button always like forever (which i loved xD) and now its like u just watch the party fight if u set it up right ...and its kinda...i dunno maybe its takes some time to learn to love like that song u had to hear 5 times to like xD

anyway i dont really understand japanese so im just playing to get to know the battle system xD and well u can always just choose everything yourself u dont have to let them fight with AI and that is cool...but kinda beats the purpose of the whole system...bout the music well its just not perfect like uematsu's and the camera's rotation making ppl sick its just dumb -.-U no offense to anyone if they do get sick though *insert nervous giggling here hehehe* also the graphics are just awesome mindblowing incredible etc

well i hope this sort of review may help give everyone some ideas bout the game im gonna resume my final fantasy gaming duty =D

believe me.. you'll want to use the gunbit system after you play about 50% of the game. it's just too irritating to press the buttons just to kill the same monsters again and again..

i'm leaving to the AI most of the time for now save the trouble lol

as all said and done, this game is like a single playered classic FF game kickass story version of FFXI, im very much impressed because i was a big fan of FFXI, yes maybe the story in FFXI was lame but the battles were surely as addicting as an acoholic would be to his bottle of vodka lmao

im going to absolutley love this game once it hits the shores! WHOSE WITH ME!!?
