| I never really developed a taste for the cardgame in FFVIII, it was alright, but overly complicated and rather annoying later on in my honest opinion.
The FFIX card game I enjoyed immensly. The aspect of mystery helped with that, along with the fact it was still simple enough to be good fun (if a little infuriating at times). Its true you didnt get anything in the game from it (unless you got Nameingway, I guess) but honestly that made it more interesting to me as it was a true break from the rest, something to do where you didnt have to worry about attaining whatever was the current goal. Maybe its just me though - at the end of the day one of the reasons I gave it a real chance was because some of the cards are rather nifty and I have an obsession with 'fully' completeing FFIX that I never developed for the less entertaining VIII. :..2-2-7..:
