Murder or suicide?

While the title is ambiguous, my topic is very specific. The murder or suicide I'm referring to is that of ex-lead singer for the band Nirvana, Kurt Cobain. While this might seem qualified for the music thread, I'd much rather discuss the case and events surrounding his death than his musical career. With that in mind, I would really seriously ask you guys to not post anything like "whiney Nirvana fans need to let that sh*t go" or "Courntey love is a b*tch-a$$ wh0re", and overall unintelligent things of that sort.

I hate to just be like "give me your opinion on this" because truthfully I care very little for people's opinions, but I do simply wish to discuss this topic, as it is something that intrigues me.

So my question for you, and the topic of this debate, is this: Do you believe Kurt Cobain was murdered or do you believe he committed suicide. Also, I would like you to explain why you believe so and if you can, give us evidence from the case itself to support your claim.

If you are unfamiliar with the details regarding Kurt Cobain's death, just type it into a search engine and you'll find about 9038902758936q1yjklh3t6 sites devoted to it. I acquired most of my knowledge about the case while bored one night, curious to know what really happened. I found what you might call a fan site, although it was of slightly better quality than such, that had quotes and things from the police reports, toxicology, and many different facts of the case.

Naturally I would encourage reading a little bit into the matter before posting.

I will post my stance on this and my support for it after someone replies.

From what I know, he committed suicide. I believe there was a note found, too. And really, that wouldn't surprise me -- he was big into drugs, and from what I know about him -- which, granted, probably isn't much more than average -- suicide would make sense.

Frankly, I've found most of the "Courtney Love murdered him!" crowd to be Nirvana/Cobain fanboys, for lack of a better word. Just like the people that believe Tupac was assassinated by the government.

if you read the note it sounds more like him explaining why he's leaving the music industry, except for like a single paragraph at the end... but i dunno. i've always been skeptical of the 'he didn't kill himself' stuff, always seemed more like denial than anything else. but i don't know all the evidence, i know there have been whole books written about it.

I personally am inclined to think murder for this reason: They found him with a 20 gauge shotgun wound to the head(he shot himself). However, they also found two heroin needles in him, one in each arm. Toxicology or tox-screens or whatever, drug reports came back showing he had well over twice the lethal amount of heroin in his blood. Even by superhuman standards, he would have most likely been dead before he could get the other needle in his arm. I'm no expert on the effects of heroin, but from what I understand, the dose found in him could kill him pretty much instantly even well before the excessive amount in him was reached.

So if it was a suicide by heroin, someone shot a corpse in the head, you know? That's my reasoning anyway, because it's extremely unlikely(if not impossible, but never say never right?) that he could have injected the amount he did and then still be able to shoot himself, the heroin would just get him too fast. It's extremely overdone either way.

Yeah and see the thing is, Courtney Love didn't kill him. She couldn't have. She was in California at the time. What they've been trying to charge her with is conspiracy and like being an accessory to his murder. From what I've read, the main suspect is Kurt and Courtney's male nanny, whose name I forget. The theory goes that she had the nanny kill him.

Suicide doesn't quite make sense, becuase I've read that he was making a bunch of plans. One of which was setting something up with one of the guys from REM. He also had plans with like his grandpa or whatever, I don't remember all of it exactly. Point being he had shit to do, so it doesn't quite make sense that he'd kill himself. That is, unless he planned stuff on purpose so that people wouldn't catch on, ya know? But even so, he was in a custody fight with Courtney for their daughter.

From what I've read about the legality of everything, the police f*cked up... bad. Stuff was compromised and not recorded correctly and the whole investigation was pretty much f*cked from the get-go. So now they don't really have enough evidence to bring charges against Courtney Love(pretty much all they have is what I've just told you guys, maybe a little more). I know there's some lawyer devoted to the case, but all he's basically been able to do is pose a minor threat, as she can hold some sort of counter-suit over his head. Essentially they're waiting for her to f*ck up and let something get out.

If he had injected -himself- with two heroin needles, the chances are, he was looking to die anyway. If somebody else injected him, then "omgwtf" comes to mind.

I know the likeliness of him killing himself are pretty slim, what with the needles ALREADY injected into his bloodstream, but...

Why would Courtney have such a thing against the man she claimed to love that she'd use a nanny to kill him - and WHY did he go along with it, if that is so? I'm not sure on ALL the details, but if anyone knows the answers to those questions, then please, by all means, post.
