Dark Aeons

Anyone have encountered theese? And I'm not talking about the Aeons you fight when fighting Sin.

I am completing the game for the second time and the first time I defeated theese.

Dark Valefor (in Besaid)
Dark Ixion (on the Thunder Plains)
Dark Yojimbo (Sunken Cave)

As I wrote I am currently completing it for the second time and I just got my ass totally PWND by Dark Yojimbo, I didn't even get a chance to say BOO before he pawned all my three characters, with 99.999 blows....

I have got just the standard u.s. version, which I have conquered umpteen times, and there is no dark aeon anything outside of sin.

Yeah, I have chatted with folks from the US and CA they didn't know what the heck I was talking about.


Look, on the int. ver. there are Dark Aeons and they are more powerful than ANYTHING on the game.
Fighting them makes you think they are simply undefeatable, but they aren't.

And I forgot the destruction sphere in Besaid, so I have to go there to get Anima.
And guess who is in my way? A warrior monk and what he summons??
DARK VALEFOR!!!!! to beat them you need break HP limit , protect, shell, haste and all sorts of stuff.
Because when they hit you they ALLWAYS do moe than 9999 damage, like Yojimbo struck me with Kozuka and did 99.999 damage....

High stats and all that positive status stuff is required.

oh yeah i remember the first time i saw a dark aeon, i didn't have a clue what they were at first, but i was just going back to besaid after getting the airship and dark valefor came and i hadn't saved in a while (just before yunalesca i think) and i was planning to save a besaid but then valefor came and stomped my party because i was weak compared to him,i was really frustrated! I've completed ffx a few times and i never got round to beating the dark aeons i don't think i could be bothered to put in all the training to be honest.

Oh man, i remember the first time i fought those damnable things. I was wandering back down to besaid to grab the new treasure from the temple and the next thing i know theres some guy shouting "infidel!" at Yuna and i'm in a battle with a sleek black Valefor!
So far, on a lighter note, i've managed to defeat:
Dark Valefor
Dark Ifrit (He's in the desert)
Dark Shiva (Macalania Temple)

I think when you defeat all of them they unlock the way to Penance, the uber monster of the game (with 12,000,000 HP, i've heard).

Anyone tried to defeat dark Bahamut yet? Now he's bloody hard to kill (i still haven't been able to defeat him!)

Ifrit was hard but i won

Gave up on shiva (thats why i dont get along with women!)

i was never able to defeat the dark yogimbo he
killed me with one attack most times and even if
i beat him once i had to face him again.

Well Sparky have you tried PWNING Dark Yojimbo? He is mean.

I actually beat Dark Valefor last night \m/, quite lucky actually.
I used Tidus, Auon and Yuna. Tidus have 7000+HP and Yuna 3-4000 so REALLY wouldn't have much chance if it wasn't for Yojimbo, I grand summoned him and paid him 100.000 and then he nods to Yuna and uses Zanmato.
HAHAHA he totally PWNED Valefor.

So I went to the temple in besaid and got the treasure I missed in the start and now I have all Aeons.

Anybody PWNED Dark Anima/Magus Sisters or Bahamut yet?

I only killed Dark Shiva because I had to, to get the destruction sphere prize to get anime, I just used yojimbo's zamoto and that was it, over and done.

I found the Dark Valefor in Besaid Island and tried to battle it but I died in about five seconds lol. I didn't even bother fighting them at the end because I am pretty lazy . Maybe I'll try one day but now now. I'll have to train my characters a lot more if I want to defeat them. It's very difficult. Oh, I also found Dark Ixion and once again failed miserably. Maybe one day I'll defeat them lol.

I have just defeated Dark Ifrit with guess what!!

yup you guessed it ZANMATO!! That sword ROCKS \m/

Defeated Dark Aeons on this save game
Dark Valefor and Dark Ifrit.

There is a trick with the Zanmato, if you have Yuna in overdrive and save right before you fight, the first time he will not use it, you will die, go back and do it again because it refreshes when you die, and most likely you will get it, and not have to pay him alot of money either the first couple of times I got it I only gave him 30000 gil and the most I ever gave was 80000 I think but she was always in overdrive, and sometimes he will do it the first time and sometimes the second but keep trying it will happen if she is in overdrive.

Maybe Yojimbo has to have a full overdrive too to use it?

I've defeated Dark Ifrit, Valefore, Anima, Yojimbo and... well I think I got all of them, can't really remember though, I want to start a new game and try level up to the max
