| | Well, if you're gonna play this, you gotta have a credit card and then you have to register and get a Playonline ID and password. All the instructions should be in the books you got with your game. ^^;

| Magically Delicous | If you have a registration key, then it WILL work, unless you left PlayOnline for 3 months, in which case your key will no longer be valid... and you will have to buy the game again. Now, if you are talking about a keygen like your post says... we do not discuss illegal gaming in these forums... If bought the game from some dude off the street or as a "used" game, or from somewhere other than a trusted retailer, then you got screwed over. Once a key has been used, it cannot be used again. | ||||||||

| The Old Skool Warrior | Yes, that is correct. After three months of account inactivity (NOTE: this is not the same as not playing... I mean not paying for three months), your information is cancelled. Now, last year, Square-Enix held a special event in the spring where players whose information had been cancelled could come back to the game with their characters in-tact if they re-joined. No new key, no new codes, just a reactivation of the account. An account is never actually cancelled. They merely move the inactive information off of the server and into a database somewhere to relieve server stress. That's why events like the one I just mentioned are possible. If you haven't been paying for three months though, then your information is off the active servers and inaccessible until another such event. You can wait for another reactivation event to come around, or you can start fresh with a new Content ID (essentially, purchasing the game again). As for the original poster, keygenerators won't work because Square-Enix has VERY HEAVY restrictions placed, and keeps track of their stuff very well. Buy a legitimate copy.

5,158 | Yeah. I'm playing, currently, off an account that was inactive for over a year. I don't even remember my acct/pass for MINE, so I'm running off my dad's w/ updated credit card info. His account has been inactive since sometime in November of 2004 up until 3 days ago. So. No. You do not have to rebuy the game if you quit for more than 3 months. However, after 3 months of not paying, your character(s) is(are) deleted, and unrecoverable. Edit: To clarify. He had no active content ID linked to his Playonline account since November of 2004 when we started playing World of Warcraft. The current active Content ID is linked to the same account but billed to my credit card. Last edited by Sean; 03-07-2006 at 03:07 AM. | ||||||||
