I don't watch CN, but...
I love naruto! anway, I want to get into
Samurai Champloo because the animation
looks soo good. I also want to watch the
rest of evangelion after my friend showed
me the 1st 5 episodes.

I rarely watch Adult Swim b/c of the editing of certian(sp) anime shows (I won't say which ones, though) in order to get the network's highest-ever rating, TV-14.

If only I have a TiVo or some DVR-equivalent, then I can resume taping some Adult Swim shows. But for now, I'll have to use my VCR to record Saturday Night Live episodes on NBC.

I know that DVRs can record two separate shows at once, but not VCRs.

For me this a a pretty hard choice. I like or should i say love Cowboy Bebop,Tri-gun,and Ghost in the shell a lot and a few others. I used to be into FMA at first i didnt like it then i got into for a while then just kinda slowly stopped watching it,I liked the episodes about the officers like Mustang for some reason way better than Ed or Al to me in my opinion. I also like wolfs rain(sorry if i spelled it wrong) a lot but i lost cabel after getting into it so i dont have a strong opinion about it. I also forgot to mention i love Samurai Champloo a lot,I saw a lot of the episodes but i just lost cabel again recently so i cant watch any of the current ones on now that also goes for all the other shows. In the end i would have to chose Samurai Champloo,Gits, or Other. This is a hard choice for me but if i decide soon i'll vote.

SailorCallie, I don't know if you're aware of this, but the Adult Swim line-up has two runs every night. After it runs from 11 p.m. through 2 a.m., it repeats the shows in the same order from 2 a.m.- 5.a.m., thus giving you a second chance as taping it. I thought that might be worth mentioning. ^_^

Also, I'd love to hear how Trigun, s-CRY-ed, Full Metal Alchemist The Big O, and Zatch Bell have plots that are "demeaning to women," as that seems like a rather brash statement to make.

It's those damsel in distress stereotypes that degrade women; in fact, several members of The National Organization For Women have been protesting against that sort of thing.

You're just downright deluded 0_o. You're living in your own little world. First of all, Investigating her parent's deaths, forgiving the man who killed them, and acting as a supportive older sister to the Elrics is NOT sticking her nose where it doesn't belong. Let alone be a damsel in distress stereotype.

Yes I could understand a stereotype that's worth protesting about, but characters you mentioned aren't like that. Have we seen the leading lady fall in love with or care for the hero? Of course. That DOESN'T make it a stereotype. And Id really like to see some concrete evidence that N.O.W. is actively persuing this. As far as I can see, the most they mention is the portrayal of women as "Sex Objects" which they disapprove of. Where are these Anti-Winry campaigns?

Like I said, you're just deluded. You're making such a big deal over nothing. Just say you don't like the character and move on, don't try to make yourself look cool by saying you're some kind of Feminist Revolutionary on Anime characters (who talks like she's 12).

Anyhow, If I were edward (FMA), Roger Smith (The Big O), Kazuma (s-CRY-ed), Vash (Trigun), I wouln't bother saving the damsels, just avenge their deaths and fight for their memmory. Everyone's got different viewpoints, don't you think? In Winfry's case, she could've been KILLED for doing such foolhardy stuff, and if I was Ed, I'd spank her silly. Just my beliefs, eh?

Actually the two I would prefer to vote for are not listed here - I'm gonna assume thats because they arent on right now, since the seasons changed and since one is currently being released on DVD and its creators probably thought having it still on TV might drain on there profit margain somewhat.

But yes, if either Wolfs Rain or Paranoia Agent were up there, thats where my vote would be going. Wolfs Rain both for personal reasons and because it really was a peice of art in my eyes, I hold it on the same level as, say, Cowboy Bebop, they are very different animes but both make a statement and both engage the viewer heavily, especially towards the end. Paranoia Agent is more like, I dunno, Lain maybe. Its a head-attacking, strange and confuseing thing created by someone known for his delveing into the human physche and his.. Abstract ways of representing such. WR got a pretty decent following, but PA hardly gets mention by most anime fans (though what it does get has never been negative in my general experiance) so I'd probably vote for PA over WR just because someone bloody well aught to!

FMA is a'right, but the paceing bugs me, Evangelion is kind of 'been there, done that' by now, Trigun isnt even on and has an annoying main character (Inuyasha as well.. That show is overated, not bad persay, but horribly overated), s-CRY-ed reminds me far too much of DBZ and I do not approve of the series for the much acclaimed Ghost In The Shell being little more than a pretentious (and boreing) cop drama. Lupin III's a pretty good series, as are Naruto and Bo-Bo-Whatever, but none of them strike me as anything all that special or particularly flawed. Just my opinions though, everyones got there own tastes after all. *shrugs*

In correction: I did notice some Adult Swim shows that has garnered the TV-MA rating recently (i.e., Robot Chicken).

But the good news is that I've finally got a DVR yesterday through Comcast and was able to record an episode of Robot Chicken. Last night's episode was very hysterical.

I think you take anime too seriously. You`re not Vash, Roger, or Kazuma and no one else is. They are simply drawings set into motion with inserted voices or comic captions if you read the manga. Just a figment of the artist`s imagination.

I can`t think of many situations where Winry was kidnapped and needed to be saved. Can you bring up one situation where this actually happened?

Winry is also never portrayed as "seductive" at any point.

On an off topic, note, as far as FMA goes, I like how

Spoiler: Scar killed Winry`s parents instead of Mustang. I don`t think WInry ever saw Scar face-to-face in the anime.
