Why is it that the majority of people that seem interested in this game are into death metal heavy metal or goth metal or some type of cult music
I'm not so sure about Goth Metal or 'cult music', whatever the hell that means, but people like Death Metal, Black Metal, Prog Metal, and Grindcore for one reason that many artists of other genres lack: musicianship. All the other genres disregard the instruments and focus on vocals while metal focuses less on vocals and more on instruments, much like classical composers, hence the reason metal is every bit as good as classical music.

Sweety, no one listens to Grindcore for musicianship. Typically not for black metal either, though I suppose you can let the song writing aspect of black metal pass as good black metal song writing is typical above all else. Death and Prog. I will agree with however, as typically the musicianship in those genres are amazing (even if song writing suffers ALOT sometimes.)

I like:
Aerosmith
D12
Gorillaz
Dig Jelly
No Doubt
The Fugees
Linkin Park
Cradle of Filth
The people who did the Lestat tracks on Queen of the Damned. Bad movie. Truely stellar music.

I will admit that many black metal and grindcore bands are just noise, though I think bands such as Origin, Necrophagist, Cryptopsy, Cattle Decapitation, Woods of Ypres, and Embraced really stand out for their genre.

As for the sweety bit, I stand 6 foot, 250+ lbs, and have 18" biceps, not very sweet if you ask me... unless you mean to tell me you're female.

Yeah, there are some bands in the subgenre that are instruentally talented but all of those Grind bands have Death metal elements in them.

As for WoY, I wouldn't even call them BM. They are really doomy rock with like a few black metal songs.

Haha, damn you and your female based screen name >_____>

I doubt they're 18", really. Unless you take steroids and are a train-a-holic - which I highly doubt aswell. Infact, I've fought guys like that - and knocked them to the floor (I am 5 foot 8 inches and weigh 190lbs).

Train-aholic, yes. Steroid user, no. You don't need the 'roids to get big unless you want to get super huge in shorter time. I'll stick to my protein diet though, we all know the side-effects of anabolics.

Bodybuilding and strength training are two seperate things (me doing the former), big muscles does not equate to strength and neither equate to being a good fighter. In fact, being bulky kinda works against you because it makes you heavier than you should be.

Which is really funny when so many black people do body-building just to get the large muscles yet they can't fight worth shit, oh MAN is that funny! Anyway yeah, I do strength training. My right hand is bigger than my left though, wtf is up with that? Lawl, j/k .

P.S. - I'm excluding the black boxers, Ali, Tyson, yeah those guys rock.

Actually, reading more into your post, what instrumental skills do you have? (Please don't go saying you've played the Oboe or something. Guitar is another league entirely).
If you have none, its not wise to say other genres lack musicianship. I'll tell you this, though; A high-school drop out with a guitar that has four broken strings could produce a song with more soul than some of the prog-rock shit out there.

Does one need any musicianship to criticize the musician ship of a band? No, one does not.
