one thing, all jokes aside..

wasn't the rebuilding of babylon a sign of the second coming of jesus? and present day Iraq is where Babylon once was. So mayb the overthrowing of Saddam, and the rebuilding (or attempt thereof) of Iraq could be a sign of the end of the world!?!!?!!?

Its hard to discuss things sometimes when it come into religion, since everyone has their own viewpoints. I was not trashing the bible or anything (sheesh calm down) I was just open for more suggestions, since I heard most of how the world will end in the Bible...And I wanna know more, be open to everything.
Its like you guys will question in a way about other religions that make those religions seem inferior, or stupid. Rebuilding the Temple of Israel will be the end or soemthing...WTF?! If you can't respect another's religion, don't expect yourself to be regarded in high standards...
And also, if God loves us, why would he punish us when he gives us free will to do waht we choose? Why not just send everyone to hell or heaven? he created us, why condemn us?

At this moment, I'm too afraid to say anything else, since there are so many people who will dislike my opinion.

i haven't read the bible ALL the way through yet, but i think what sorta happened was that bitch Eve ate from the garden of eden, or maybe she convinced Adam to... i forgot.... either way, after that happened god condemned man RIGHT THERE to no longer live in paradise forever and ever. we were doomed to become mortals and trust our faith in him and his son to return to paradise again one day to live forever in his kingdom.

That's quite possible. If a comet or meteor were to land in the Pacific Ocean, it would quite literally create a tidal wave large enough to flood North & South America, Australia, and half of Asia. It could also put such a crater in the planet that it knocks the whole thing so far out of orbit that our atmosphere either heats up or cools down (based on direction) to the point where all life either burns or freezes to death. That could be interesting.

Who says it's God that condemns us? We condemn ourselves. i don't personally think the world will come to an end because of a peice of rock that causes a catastrophic event. maybe the end of the world, but not the end of man. maybe we'll learn about any global killers be it asteroids, nukes, global warming, floods, whatever far enough in advance that we can all burrow deep into the earth where it's warm enough to survive. =)

...if we all burrowed into the earth, and then a massive asteroid impacted through half the planet, we'd all still be dead anyway.

You haven't done much reading on the theories of what would happen if something that large actually impacted the planet, have you? Earth would look like the moon, and then some. I'm talking craters the size of Asia here.

No, i haven't done much reading on meteor strikes and their impacts on planets heh.

However... you're saying if we invented a technology that would allow us to burrow to a safe distance at a certain strategic location within the Earth we couldnt survive? I'm not talking "Deep Impac" movie..."oh lets go hide in the canyon" crap.. i mean like DEEP EARTH BURROWS. Maybe only colonies of about 1000 people or so every 100 miles.
