What I do not understand (in this tiny little brain of mine)

Is why (wont name any names) people like *blank* for example have to be so close minded on other religions other than christianity, Can't you have your Beliefs and be open minded and well let's just call it "non assholey" to other people's religions...

I mean The bible says god loves everybody, no matter what....

so, like F**kin, If God isn't going to be a bitch about it...., why should you?

Elvis, has left the building.

I`m just stating my opinion on what other people say and so far, whenever I question theirs, they just leave. I guess they just suggested defeat.

I`m willing to hear them out and then question things.

Next time if someone is going to make a thread like this please show me evidence of the world ending. As for Revelations in the bible, it was made centuries ago, massproduced in factories, and given colorful covers to make it look sweet and innocent. For all we know someone maybe even a year ago might of made a different bible with different text and everything so how would you know that's even the real thing? Explain this, why are all bibles so different in the first place? Why make different bibles? You probarly don't give a damn but have you even wondered why the bible is big in church and small in motel desks. Have you ever considered that maybe the bible you read at this very moment could not be the real thing? As I probarly suspect I don't believe me I don't expect you to really. God cares for everyone and I don't think he would kill us off as the bible says in revelations. You guys can believe what you want as for me I have a life and Iam going to live it.
I'm glad you have more questions.

First of all, to speak of the Bible like that is
equal to speaking against God.
John 1:1 says, "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God
and the Word was God."
The Word is the Bible, which was inspired by God.
You cannot love God, but discredit His word.

Second of all, why do you think the bible is false? If there was no Bible how would God communicate with people? If the Bible wasn't mass produced,
how would we read His word and reach out to people accross the
seas through missionary work? Just take this a step further, you probably
know the answers to your own irrelevant questions like "the reason they make multi-colored Bibles..."
TomStrife Summarized the difference between
the different Bibles.

Well, on a lighter note, at least that conflict is resolved.

Wow I've missed a lot.

To let you all know:
1. Yup, it was the Catholic version. *puke* that's why I'm not catholic.
2. Still going with that it will be destroyed, but by the sun, not anything else.
3. I really need to be online more.

Belle: Good point. From the outside looking in, that's a perfectly logical question. From the inside, though, it is so obvious. Not just from a scientific point of view, but from a personal -- we've seen God act in our lives and the lives of others, we've seen Divine Protection, we've seen miracles. I've seen a seemingly random charity check made out to a single mother, that just happened to be made out for the exact amount that was on her credit card -- the reason was a simple "God just told me to give you this. I hope it helps." But as for our relationship with God and how the Bible is involved -- if you really had faith that your pop tart would save you from eternal damnation, had faith that your pop tart would help get you through your everyday life, and had faith that, through that faith in your pop tart, you would spend eternity in Heaven in worship to your pop tart...your pop tart box would have instructions on what to do with the pop tart, how to handle the pop tart, what you shouldn't do with the pop tart, how to eat the pop tart, and even what's in the pop tart. Just like my Bible has instructions on how to worship my god (God), what God likes and doesn't like me doing, why I need my faith in God, what God is, and what I need to do to become part of God's family. Your pop tart box is my Bible.

Ultima: As current editions of the Bible have been compared to original texts and found to be nearly exactly alike, your argument on how much the Bible has been changed doesn't hold water. As for why the Bible is big in church but small in hotel desks -- you've got to be kidding, honestly. Most of the time, the Bible in hotel desks isn't the entire Bible, only the Old Testament, or more commonly only the New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs -- which doesn't make it a Bible, but multiple books from the Bible. And pew Bibles usually have larger text so that they're easier to read. Please don't try to tell me that the size of the Bible means the content has changed -- I've got at least three Bibles that can fit in a cargo pocket, and I used to have a copy of Proverbs on a keychain. It was just really small and hard to read. While you can believe what you wish, you certainly cannot believe in a Christian God while pushing aside the Bible.

PullThistrigger: We know what we believe, that doesn't make anybody "close minded". Unless your definition of open-minded includes agreement and conversion. If somebody comes to me to talk, I'll listen to them, but that doesn't mean I'm going to agree with them.

EDIT: Wow. Maybe I should take this one thread at a time, instead of opening a bunch of 'em, letting them sit for a while, then going through them one by one. I just replied to forty minutes ago.
