Yes, hopefully this will begin to affect prices and bring them down to more reasonable levels again. I mean I have enough trouble trying to make ends meet with the jobs that I have. I still do not have a mary's horn or monster signa, which I need for BCNM. I also need Emperor's Hairpin and Leaping Boots, but I am probably more inclind to still just camp those, since I am more interested in leveling my BLM at the moment.

With this it should make all the RMT less willing sell things, and I do not know if they want to go and risk face to face meetings. It is pretty easy, but still it does mean that unless they are in Jeuno, the people buying gil have to go out of their way to get the money. I am guessing that RMT create new characters and delete them on a regular basis, the mules that is, always having to travel to Jeuno now will make them less likely to delete their mules probably.

Now we need something simliar done on WoW. I hate going into auctions and finding a good deal on an item to only have someone outbid me with an insane amount just so he is assured the item. It's not much of a game when you can have your character equiped with all epics in a matter of hours!

Let's hope this ALL people buying gill, otherwise it could mean people have payed up to 4.5billion dollars for all that gill.

Problem is still with a lot of people that it's very hard to actually prove that people are gilsellers.
A friend of mine pretty much dominates Spook NM on my server, he makes very nice gil with that. But he's not a gilseller.
In the past you could say that gilsellers had crappy gear compared to others cause they always sold items.
Hmmm, things have changed. Most thf gilsellers either got a scorpion harness or a dragon harness even nowadays. Seen loads of gilsellers wearing a vermy cloak as well.
That shit is ****ed up, whaha. Ah well.

do you get banned if you buy gil?
if so why do they still sell if off the web?
i just started and i dont see why you need to buy gil cause i have like 20,000 gil and all i do is sell my crystals and anything that stacks to 12 like hare meat, feathers, ect....

Gil farmers are players who constantly hunt the same monsters, collect the same drops, and generally make it difficult for any honest players to get anything done.

Yes, you can buy the gil which they generate from various sites on the internet.

If Square-Enix finds out that you have purchased gil, they CAN cancel your account, though I haven't heard of many cases where they've punished the buyer, only the seller. That doesn't mean they won't, though.

They sell gil because it generates actual money. It's a business.

People buy gil because sometimes, the items they need cost two or three million gil, due to price gouging. Trust me, you don't want to collect stacks of items for small change if you're needing to make that kind of money. That's why people will spend long lengths of time camping various NMs -- unfortunately, if it's one of the same ones that the gil farmers camp, then chances of actually getting it are slim to none.
