They aren't really a terrible band, but I don't exactly think they are the greatest thing in metal either. There are some elements of their music which I can appreciate, but overall they are too similar to the next trendy American metalcore band to be really interesting.

Haha. My signiature? It's a joke. I don't listen to music 'Big' record companies feed me... In fact, I wasn't aware Trivium was big. Hardly anybody in Australia knows them, and I'm rather happy they don't. My standard isn't really low either, you just don't appreciate anything non-metal.

For the record? Restricting yourself to that shit, like you do? And hating on just about everything else? Well, how can you think for one second your taste in music is good =\

I think you missed the point.

And of course Trivium are big, they're on MTV constantly, they're on a major label, their singer took part in that godawfully crap "Roadrunner United" or whatever it was called, and every 14 year old knows who they are.

I'm sorry. MTV doesn't play as big a part in my life as you would think. So they're big in the USA, doesn't mean shit to me. They still play some kickass stuff.

Just for clarification - barely anyone in Australia knows who Trivium are. In addition, few people here listen to/watch MTV, nor is it brought up in casual conversation [about music] often. If at all.

Yeah, stick that up your americanized ass. I wasn't following some 'metal-core kid' trend by listening to Trivium. I saw their site while browsing for images of In Flames

Just to clarify, I do listen to plenty of music that isn't metal. I enjoy recent Tiamat, Amorphis, My Dying Bride, as well as bands like Our Lady Peace, 311, Dredg, Faith No More, Chevelle, Nubuo Uematsu, Aesop Rock, etc.

My musical taste is not limited to metal, I just prefer metal a hell of alot.

I also was not too aware that you were an Aussie, so I'm sorry for making the point that they are a band that everyone knows, but my point still stands, if they were not a big band you wouldn't have ever heard them.

Your point can suck my testicles, because my taste in music isn't determined by how popular a band is. So what If they're big? They play good, wholesome tunes, that you don't hear on any radio stations here in Australia

Your point? You don't have one. I saw their site because I typed in 'Metal bands' in google. They got a site? So does just about every other band at the moment. It was pure luck I found them.

My point is valid, if they did not get big their website would not have shown up on that google search, because I'm almost willing to bet that of the millions of hits their website had gotten, most of it were from MTV kids over here in the USA.

It is still my view that were they never "big" over hear, you would not know who they are.

What is big over here DOES affect what you will be able to find out about.

Ah yeah, I see what you mean.

Still, my liking of them has nothing to do with their popularity.

And yeah, I found that they really are another MTV ass kissing band. However, their music still appeals to me, and I love their stuff. You keep your opinion to yourself, like I do my own ^^

First thing I will mention is Trivium is not a small band, they are quite accessible

Secondly allthough I haven't listened to them that much, I didnt consider them talented, seriously how many metal-core/nu-metal bands are there these days? Nor original, I wait for the day when I hear a Viking metal band on MTV.

Thirdly there are many Obscure bands out there without a webpage, most of them only release to a close fanbase like friends and such, I have demos and albums from bands you guys will probably never hear about in your entire life.

That day will never come, because nobody WANTS to see viking metal on MTV. You stupid idiot, when you can play Trivium songs yourself, and comfortably, then and only then can you tell me they're not talented.

That doesn't make them better bands. Infact, who gives a shit? Oh wait, I know how it is. You want everyone to sit around and say you're really hip.

More seriously, though. Not hearing about an insignificant band is not going to be a burden on a persons life. So why bring it up? Wait, don't answer that. It was rhetorical.

Yeah, the people who actually care to listen to music that is better than the shit on MTV should never wish to hear it on that channel.
