I would have to agree with you. It is quit sad. And the scary thing is that people do go threw the same feeling as the charecters. It is pretty bad.

Well, the saddest anime I've ever watched was Wolf's Rain.

It was just plain angstful, up until the end. Then it made me really sad. Everyone died... *tear tear*

Well... at least then the world started all over again. But then everything that happened was going to happened again... Agh, no, I have to shut up about it...

I'd have to say Trigun, but maybe that's just making me look like a n00b. Definitely adding Grave of the Fireflies to the to-watch list.

Grave of the fireflies is definitly one of those movies. It is one of those movies you can't seem to watch over and over. Maybe once in a blue moon. It is such a powerful film. Although there are a bunch of sad ones I just can't think of them all.

Angel Sanctuary and Samurai X.

Samurai X when Tomah dies. Just stabbed through the heart by Kenshin's blade trying to stop the fight, it altered him completely.

Angel Sanctuary when Sara dies at the very beginning of the series, and then Setsuna has to go into hell to find her.

Yeah I totally agree with that. That series was pretty depressing sometimes, especially with Shinji. I couldn't help but feel sorry for him. Even after watching the two movies I still felt sad. Asuka was a real cow all of the time but I couldn't help but feel sorry for her when she completely lost her mind. It's just a real sad and depressing series over all but I still love it! It does have its share of humor which is always good.

I think the top saddest on my list would have to be Grave of Fireflies, X, and Evagelion. Naruto also had quite a bit of sad moments because of all the crap all those kids have gone through. I don't think I've ever not cried during one of the sad episodes of Naruto.
In fact, one of the saddest episodes is when the Third dies and then the funeral episode. I was bawling. Maybe I was just emotional that day, but man, that was sad...

Sorceror Hunters had kind of a downer ending to have been such a lighthearted show. I wasn't expecting it and I thought that made it all the more depressing...

Elfen Lied. Definitely the saddest anime that I've ever seen. The last few episodes are just crammed with all sorts of sad stuff. If you haven't seen it, you definitely need to...
