For the curious (which I'm guessing is just you), it says exactly what I want it to say. If you read the first paragraph after the letter, it essentially covers the content of the letter. I could give you a literal translation if you'd like, but my Greek isn't very good as I'm still just learning the language. A literal translation might not come out so nicely.
In any case, this is roughly what it says: Dear Argentos, I write to you now because I need your help. Rumor has it that the man who cursed me is in the government. Knowing you are a Phoenix Knight, I hope you can help me. Please meet me next week at the pub on the edge of town. Sincerely, Ramond Hope that satisfies your curiosity. ^_^

I have a question. Once the Phoenix Knights are running strong, would you all like to put our heads together and make an actual storyline for the Knights to run through? I think it would be interesting.

Actually, it did satisfy my curiosity.
And Valar. As the Knights will be shifting a lot, I don't know if that would be handy. However, I DO want to start to write about Fenii. I'm even thinking of drawing out Terra and its vicinity. I like the idea of a PK story, I just doubt if it can be arranged properly... |

Of course it could be arranged properly -- it would just have to be done at a time when we, as a club, are well established. The only thing that could possibly disrupt some sort of roleplay would be members joining and leaving, whether by choice or by being defeated in a challenge. Of course, those sorts of things could easily be worked into a roleplay, and there's nothing that says members who lose club status would have to leave the RP, either.
Still, it's an idea to save for a later time. It's too early for that.

Well, yah! I've been waiting for that too
Also, recently 2ndPower continued his battle with me. I performed my character's Limit Break; Split-Image Slice, which divides him in to three images. One of the images is real, but the thing is...just read for yourselves. THIS is the link. If there's any further confusion, read the rest of the battle. So my question is: Did I have the right to post my last post like I did? |

Well, I personally don't condone ANY interruptions of threads, ESPECIALLY by one of the posters. That's part of why I highly dislike your DoC, despite it being a good idea. But, with that aside, let's get to your question.
No. Your post is every bit as pointless as 2ndPower's godmodding, which, by the way, he is doing. Teleportation is godmodding, as it gives you the ability to be at absolutely any place at any time. Things like that can be difficult to write your way out of. But, taking that into mind, you did hit him pretty hard with your near-godmod of a limit break. While I do appreciate that you asked me if it was okay when you posted it, I still hate the fact that you actually did it. I think it's the cheapest thing you could possibly do, and had you done it in a TOA fight, I would have immediately disqualified you. ...besides, how the heck could you get your limit break that close to the start of the fight anyway? I don't understand why people feel the need to immediately break out with their most powerful moves. That's also why I rarely create move/ability lists for my characters. I like my battles to be true fights. No RPG-esque skills. No fancy riff-raff. That's just a personal opinion, and I am by no means saying that people shouldn't do that if they like. It's just the premature revelation of powerful moves that frustrates me. ...and actually, aside from his teleportation, what he did was fine. It's perfectly legitimate to chain together a single attack phase, so long as you don't explicitly say that you're hitting the other person. So what if you leave yourself open to a counterattack in doing so? That's one of the risks you take as a writer. Surely it may not have been the wisest decision, but it was his choice.

The reason why I pulled out the Limit Break was because he had too much strange attacks. He also got away from my rusty wing trick. Which is scientifically impossible, I asked a few of my teachers. Also, how could I escape from an attack that was headin towards everything in the battle location? I needed something with great speed. Also, it's so soon? There have been like 8 turns each, at the least...
And, like I said before, I won't defeat you with my Limit. I'm a fair man. If you manage to do your utter best in stopping it, I'll say the kid was fatigued or something and couldn't give him is all. Now, he put me in a messed up position again! Without a lot of logic and sense. Now I have to take a hit, AGAIN, seeing he struck all three images. I'm sorry to be a bitch about this, but I'm having a hard time not seeing all the disadvantaged on my side. So, guess I'll take a hit from the castle wall club. Did I mention the thing is -some- feet long? Inferno: "Good luck, Inferno." Me: "Yeah, thanks Inferno, I'll need it..." |

Well, the comment about big moves wasn't necessarily regarding THAT specific post... but moreso the fact that in many threads, with yours included, that sort of thing tends to happen. In any case, something I'd like to comment on...
Quote:
Plus, even if the wing WAS rusted, that doesn't mean it couldn't be functional. When someone godmods, write your way out of it. There was a time when I would immediately close any threads which I saw godmodding in, or, before I was in charge of the RPB forum, the other moderators would do it. The only reason I've even let some of these threads continue on is because you're adamant about the progression of skills, and I'm perfectly fine with that. I love that you've taken the initiative to help revitalize the RPB forum, but you can't stoop to godmodding when you're being godmodded against. How will the other writers learn if you do what they do? It teaches them absolutely nothing. On a final note, you're a bit mistaken. You need to learn how to read things with a different interpretation, Inferno. For instance, Quote:
Quote:
I noticed that immediately, and thought that it was actually a well-produced attack phase. You, on the other hand, are so wrapped up in your frustration that your mind is warping what's actually written. Again, aside from the teleportation, there was no godmodding in that specific post. I thought the situation was handled quite well. If I was fighting what appeared to be three warriors, I likely would have done something similar.

I agree with Loco about having RPG like skills. I prefer to keep natural powers of a species as species wise, and allow the rest to come from the playing.
As for teleportation, it can be a definite mod, but can also be written in ways that might be used without cheating. I could write an example, but the best one already in context would be Goku's Instant Transmission. He can teleport to anywhere in the galaxy, granted he knows the location and there is someone with a strong enough ki signature there. He uses the ki signature to control his teleportation, which makes it impossible for somebody to cheat and warp to any random place for an advantage. |

Hmm, I think I had a little much to drink. Now that you've said it, I've noticed that he swung towards my images. Gawd...this is what I mean by making an ass out of myself...
![]() Anyway, I forgot to handle the matter professionally. I have to whine once in a while too! By the way, I can always say I was testin' y'all, to get your attention and finally post something nice about a particular battle. Saying that, I'll post a move ASAP. Not today, for it is too late here. It will be there soon. Thanks for your comments Colt! Appreciate it ![]() |
