FFVI Advance -Will the difficulty be the same?-

I`m sure everyone is aware that FFI and II was very easy when it was remade on Gameboy. Do you think this one wil be toned down on difficulty? I am personally stuck on FFVI, that is why.

Even though SE is going to tone down the difficulty, I want them to make it harder. It is my favourite FF, I want to try something new and challenging with it.

i like the difficulty toned down cause I want to get through the story and with high diff lvls u cant get through the story now can u? I am playing FF for like 7 months now (yeah ruff huh) and I want to get through all the games so I can talk about the game on the forums.

I have only beat FFX,FFX2,FFI and with the toned dow diff lvls of the remakes, I am almost through FF2GBA and FF4PS. I would greatly appreciate the toned down lvls of the remakes. Maybe after I beat all the FFs, I might appreciate the higher diff lvls of the SNES versions.

PS:I never had a S/NES to play FF back in the day.

I really hope not. It just wouldn't be a remake if the difficulty level was changed. Yes, what people say is most likely true. It seems as though games are getting easier and easier, and thinking isn't exactly a requirement to play them anymore. One of the things I loved so much about the "good ol' days" was the time spent getting destroyed by a boss, leveling up, and then going back to fight that boss and kicking its ass. That doesn't exist anymore. So yeah, the game will probably be easier, and the worst part is, people that play it without playing the original won't know the difference, and won't know what the game really is.

They probably well remake the game for GBA, they remade 1,2, and 4. 4 for GBA was pretty fun, easier than the PS1 verson and the snes one, but whatever.

Square already confirmed a GBA release in NA for 1-6 (with the exception of III).

So far we have 1,2, and 4 with 3 coming on the DS.
V and VI Advance will be coming soon.

I hope they make it more difficult as well. Extra dungeons and such are nice (and I haven't even made it to those in either DoS or FF4A) but I'd like it if games nowadays would quit catering to kiddies so much. There are adult players, too.

Ah well. Hard or easy, I'll still play it...

Forgot to add one thing: the nagging part is the "advance" at the end...I know, GBA and all that, but that says to me it's going to more of a challenge, but so far, nothing.

My guess would be it'll be easier. I've played the original ff's and then I've played Dawn of Souls. And let me tell you there is a differance. Dawn of Souls is ridiculously easy I thought. And most likely IV and VI will be easier than their predasessors. I can't be certain, but that's what my educated guess would have to be.

it'll be toned down - the portable versions are really just for fun. if you want to experience the original, get the PS version - it has the original difficulty setting.

I LOVE FF4 but I STILL can't get to that non-metal Island -_-. Of course I do know how it's just I CAN'T FIND A FRICHEN BLUE OR WHATEVER CHOCOBO! Anyone know where I can get one? On another note, I think these GBA/DS versions will be quite enjoyable considering NES had them first, so now with probably uped graphics, (and some FMV scenes no doubt), they should be just as fun.

I do agree about the difficult though as Dauragon mentioned, nowadays a lot of games just seem too easy. Though I feel the gaming industry is half-assing a lot of stuff nowadays also. But that is another subject I may make a thread over XD...

If your stuck just keep leveling up. It may seem boring to fight thousands of battles but think of the end result. Your characters will be super strong and then everything else will be easier. I didn't think any of the games were that hard. If I died it meant what most people dislike, more random battles.
