Im not sure how far back it has to be in order to be clasified as a classic, but I think 20 years should do it, I think. Im pretty old myself (at least it feels this way around here). But the Rocky horror show should count as a classic since I think its being at least 20 years since it was maid. And by the way Paine, It is a very good one.

I myself love History of the World by Mel Brooks. IN fact, any people around my age (26 to 30) loved watching a good Mel Brooks spoof. I also love the movie Airplane, it kicks a@@.

The Pit and The Pendulum
Classic, with Vincent Price at his best. Truly an excellent movie, which should be viewed by all with the ability to do so. And with the story written by the great Poe, what more could you ask for in a movie.

I believe you're thinking of Gamera. I haven't actually seen any of his movies, though I saw his fight with Gayos once, during a special monster movie night BBC 2 once did. I have to nab the Gamera films off Amazon some time.

But yeah, I love Godzilla movies! I have a few on VHS, and Godzilla 2000 on DVD (but that one isn't classic). Let's see... I have:
  • Godzilla
  • Return Of Godzilla
  • Ghidrah The Three-Headed Monster
  • Godzilla Vs. Hedorah
  • Godzilla's Revenge (shudder)
  • Destroy All Monsters
  • Godzilla Vs. Gigan
  • Godzilla Vs. Megalon
  • Terror Of Mechagodzilla
  • Godzilla Vs. King Ghidorah

Great stuff. They look so tacky now, but you've gotta love 'em! I hear you can get all of them in a boxset now, at least in Japan, but it's really expensive.

Naturally, I also love the original Star Wars trilogy. A series that has captured the hearts and minds of countless generations, and I hope it will continue to do so. The story's so simple and cliched, but when the title music explodes out of the speakers, none of that matters. It's pure, classic cinema magic that I don't think anyone can replicate.

I would have to say Wizards. It's not realy a well known movie but it was just so awesome in so many ways. It's an old 70's cartoon that deals with politics that happend in the forties (nazi's) and what's so great about it is that.... It's only rated PG... In my oppinion it should be rated R because it is I guess you could sort of say an "adult" cartoon. Definitely a classic.

The Indiana Jones movies. They were great (apart from Temple Of Doom. What the hell were they thinking with that one?). Action, humour, mystery, a theme song you can whistle along to easily; what more could you want? A special appearance by the great Sean Connery? Oh, all right then.

Temple of Doom ruled man. Kali Ma.....KALI MA......KALI MAAA!!!! And so on. I enjoyed it anyway. I suppose not as good as most of the other Indie films, but still good in it's own right.

I believe your thinking of "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre" (1948)

My fav classic? What does Classic mean? I notice some people wrote Forrest Gump and MK! Both from the 90's, and Indy's from the 80's... hmm

1970's - Alien, The Godfather, Annie Hall
1960's - 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Graduate, Cool Hand Luke, Psycho
1950's - Sunset Blvd., Rear Window, All that Heaven Allows
1940's - Casablanca, The Philadelphia Story, Citizen Kane
1930's - M, Gone with the Wind, The Wizard of Oz

Im stuck between Jaws, Monty Pyton & The Holy Grail or Blues Brothers.
I have fond memories of these movies because they are the only times me and my brother truly bond. These are the films that have brought me and my brother together. So I thank them for them

My favourite classic movie (in my lifetime) allthough not really a movie would be Pink Floyd's The Wall, great example of my life in someways, great to watch when you are trashed off your face. Other than that I would say the Original Silence of the lambs... still the best imo.

Titanic, it makes me laugh sometimes.
Forrest Gump is a good one but it gets boring after a while. That movie is funny too
