King's orders!! ~Ace vs. Challenger~

Something was wrong with her metal. She placed her flesh hand on it. Rust? How? If it was ever going to rust, one would think that she'd have seen signs of it years ago. GRR!! Rachel was extraordinarily angry now. She stepped back into a ready stance, waiting for Ace to get close so that she could attack.

In her condition, Rachel didn't see the shuriken until it was almost too late. She dodged to the side, but they skimmed along her left arm, opening up fresh cuts and cutting the sleeve of her dress cleanly off her body. Her father was not going to be pleased. As the shuriken passed, though, she had lost sight of where Ace was. She couldn't find him until he attacked her wing. Seriously worried, but unwilling to give up ground, Rachel pressed back. Her metal creaked in protest, but flakes of rust fell off, revealing shinier metal underneath. Good, the rust was only on the surface. She pressed harder, and more rust fell off. She fed it her anger, and pressed even harder. The rust exploded off of the wing, flying everywhere.

Sometimes, Rachel thought that her metal had a mind of its own. Sometimes, she could feel its emotions. Like now. It was angry. Very angry that someone had dared to try and kill it. It glowed a very brilliant white. Rachel could barely stand it through her spell-shrouded eyes, she couldn't imagine what it was like for the audience or, more importantly, Ace. Hoping to take advantage of a momentary lack of vision, Rachel swung both her sword and her wing, the wing heading for Ace's neck, and the sword, his knees.

Ace had only a split second to see Rachels upcoming attack. With her wing weakened and herself tired, Ace knew the princess couldn't hold out for much longer. Ace wasn't doing so swell himself either. But he knew he had to go on, but didn't want to die in the process.

When Rachel gave it her all, he just held his daggers where the impact would be. Because of his lack of power, the devastating attack performed by the princess sent Ace spinning. The G-force was so big, it even made Ace's legs fly through the air, but all at the same spot. In this he saw a perfect opportunity to slash the young princess with both his daggers as he was still spinning. Rachel was still recovering from her powerful attack, but now had to worry about the young Ace spinning towards her at full speed....

Even in her blinded condition, Rachel could see nearby things fairly well now, thanks to the intense glow of her metal. She lept over Ace's daggers, but her momentum carried her into his flying body, and she was knocked to the ground.

Out of breath momentarily, with sweat and the remnants of Ace's earlier water spell running down her face. Rachel slowly rose to her knees. Setting her sights on the blurry figure of Ace before her, Rachel pulled her wing in front of her, curled up her arm behind that, and focused. A wave of compressed space started to spread out from her, moving a bit faster than walking speed, and growing in size at an impressive rate. It had enough force to break bones, and it probably wouldn't stop until it hit the stadium wall. It'd give the audience a scare, but they had laughed at her, so she considered it just treatment.

Ace saw the strange and eerie attack draw closer and realised it wasn't going to stop until it had crushed the whole stadium. That's when Ace had enough. It was time to make his superior speed show. The pain, the irritation and his own feelings became to much for him. Ace shouted at the top of his longs, and it seemed his spirit was trying to pull out of him. This was one of the signs of the ancient Navarre skill that many spoke of back at his home town.

It seemed his spirit made him move at an extreme speed and the young ninja split up in to three images, which were moving so fast in to the strange wave attack, that they didn't endure its full effect. Ace set eyes on the tired princess that saw the three images of him draw closer and closer. One of them was the real Ace, but if they all attacked, she knew she would have a major problem. If she didn't cancel Ace's attack now, she had to face the truth and take his hits head on. She had to choose between an image left to her, in front of her, or to the right of her. She could only pick one, seeing the images were moving at an insane speed, and weren't planning on going easy on her.....

May I intervene at this point?

Now, before you ask, NO. This is not godmodding. It's a character skill similar to Naruto's shadow clones, or a Blink spell in an RPG. Do I personally suggest that someone uses a strategy such as this? Not at all; however, as long as it's done in a proper manner (and rarely, as well), I'll look the other way. It's one of those things that can easily be turned into a godmod if the poster isn't careful about it. Remember, one on one fights are one on one, so your multiple images can't actually do anything. I suppose they could move, but you know what I'm getting at here.

I like the innovation, Inferno, but just be careful about it.

Oh, and it's the one on the... just kidding. ^_^

Rachel heard the screams as the wave hit the stadium walls with a crunch, sending cracks through it, then the sighs of relief as the wave faded before it could do any more damage, but she didn't care. Her opponent kept was moving much faster than he was before. Rachel had to think fast. She could tell they weren't clones, he was moving much too fluidly for one who divided his conciousness into three. Beyond that, though, she didn't have time to discern which one was the real one. She focused her anger into her metal, which readily accepted it, and form another Gravity Well, this one much larger, encompassing all three warriors. That should slow them down a bit, at least.

Spying the part of the stadium wall she had used as a club earlier, Rachel launched herself backwards towards it, reaching down to grab it as she moved. As soon as it was in hand, she teleported behind the three Aces as the Gravity Well faded. Remembering the words of her swordsmanship instructor ("When none of your options are good, cover as many of them as you can."), Rachel swung her club towards the one on the left, which had originally been on the right, and her wing towards the one on the right, which had been to her left before she teleported behind them. She held her shortsword in a defensive posture in her left hand, ready to intercept any attacks from the one in the middle.

<~ OOC: What you're doing is quite nonsense. Let's say that Ace was hit during your second swing...could Rachel then defend herself by the hit Ace? No, he couldn't seeing he would've been knocked down.

See, the attack is to be a gamble for the other person. I won't devistate you if you post something nice in order to reduce damage if you've picked wrong. But this...this isn't right. I've explained in the Limit post that she could only pick one, due to the immense speed. She had to cancel the attack at the moment, meaning the attack would be more of a reflex than an actual move.

I'll try to explain it in an example. Let's say you're on a railroad track, the train is like 50 feet away from you, even if you were to slow it down, it would still hit, seeing it's too close.

Now, you posted the Gravity attack slowed the three images just a bit. Do you get my point? Sorry to disturb the battle like this, but a desperate attack won't do, if you don't explain it properly. ~>

Here is my opinion on the matter. Now, 2ndPower, you have to be careful of your abilities. I'm not going to say "hey, stop teleporting or I'll warn you!" or anything like that, but it really does cross the line of what's godmodding and what isn't, as it allows you to be anywhere, any time.

In any case, Inferno Mage, you need to learn how to take your tail out from between your legs and continue, even if what the opponent did doesn't necessarily fit right with you. I see no reason why 2ndPower should rewrite his post. It should be up to you, at this point, to write your way out of his attack.

Ace's own speed seemed to be too slow, and he noticed Rachel swung her blade from side to side. Did she know, or was this merely a reaction? The short blade of the princess didn't reach the young ninja, eventhough it didn't miss much. As he was ready to strike, his earlier question was answered as Rachel vanished before his eyes.

Wondering where the princess might be, he drew his images back to him. Rachel watched as the two other reflections merged with Ace, who was standing on the right. The both of them felt a bit relieved as the pressure was eased. Ace looked around the crushed courtyard. The crowd was gone, destroyed by Rachel's earlier attack. He saw the castle guards that wanted to interfeir, but hesitated too much.

Ace grabbed his daggers firmly and looked at his opponent, who was in defensive stance. Once again, Ace summoned a few Shurikens in his hand to throw at his opponent, which he did. This time, he threw one of his daggers along with them, accurately towards her right foot. After he had thrown a part of his arsenal, he rolled to the right and cast Slow behind the young woman, almost as if he knew what she was going to do next...
