Well, first I would ask that you add a bit more content, I mean.. say WHY you think it's the greatest of its time.
But me, I own it and I'm playing through it a second time. And I have to say the music is very top notch. And it's the first PS1 RPG that has Voice Overs in the FMVs that I know of. Granted, the voices could be better...the Battle System was very unique and I Loved it. It was so complicated at first, but after using it a while, I got used to it, and now I have it completely mastered, aside from the Dragoon Additions, anyway. |

well lets see i was just starting a thread but here we go. the battle system with the combos was one of a kind i think that was greeat especially when u max out all of them u get the ultimate that was sweet. i didnt really like the "one set path" so u cant walk around the world. But the music was great and the towns were perfect for the game. like Lohan theres always gotta be a market-place type town and that was good and the way they tied in Kongol's dragoon to the vendors was awesome. if thats not enough i got more. but im hoping to see what other people think first

I loved this game. The graphics, especially the FMVs are beautiful, and are quite nice for a ps1 game. The characters are unique and are easy to understand and relate to. The locations, as what luxian said, are also awesome. The storyline is well thought of and is one of the best I've seen. Also, I really liked the Dragoon system. I think it's one of the game's best assets. My favorite characters are Meru, Albert, Lloyd and Shana.

I have the game and I'm enjoying it very much. The problem is I jump from game to game WAY too much. I'm playing LOD and KH at the same time. I've never beaten either and I knew it was Way past time to beat them. I love the opening it's so neat. The FMV are wicked. I like the battle system too and the storyline is intriguing.

It's an interesting game. I like the battle system but I think we need more healing control than what the game allows us. But really it was alright. The music was different and interesting and the gameplay was fairly good. It's a bit easier than a FF game, so I think it's a good game to play before the FF series to get used to the RPG format of it all.

I found LOD was an excellent game, and I am still working on it, Lloyd is still stalling me(even though i need to reborrw the game) I have fought hime once and didnt know he would kill my guys in dragoon and got them all dead because i used special. I found it got me quite angry.

It's a damned good game I have to say. Only one catch though. It's not Square. Someone told me that one time, and I had to double-check my case to make sure. XD
The addition system was absolutely awesome for it's time, and until you got the exact timing down, it was hard to master. Plus adding in the possibility for counter-attacks made it that much harder for some people. Great storyline too from what I've seen. I really need to finish it at some point. >.>

Please do. Like the FF games, it kinda starts out as one thing then slowly transforms into others, and actually there are a couple little twists in the plot line as well.
I would play it again if it weren't for my ex having it and I can't get it off of him now. Same with my FF7 game. I'm rather quite fond of the opening music and something I call "shawna's Lullaby". |

Its an okay RPG... I mean, I wish I could always know my health. I also would have liked a time bar. And the story is just same old RPG fare.

Words could not express how much I loved this game. If I had a choice of owning the entire FF series or LOD I'm sorry but, I would choose LOD. LOD pulled me in and his not let go of me since. There could not have been a better game then LOD and I wish they would make a sequel.
