TFF MTG Club...OF DOOM!

That is correct, folks. TFF now has its own Magic: The Gathering Club. Why? Because three people can only play so many games against each other without it becoming repetitive. With Jay's permission I have begun this Club, and I would assume he will post in here shortly. Interested in playing, or even learning how to play? PM or IM myself, LocoColt04 or Shadow Otenaki and we will be glad to hook you up with everything you will need. Since advertising is not allowed on the forums, I will not post a link to the program or anything here. What we WILL do is keep track of records and such here, perhaps post a few of our lethal decks at some point in time, and even hold tournaments if we get enough people interested in joining in on the fun. Sound good to you? I thought so. We all shall start with a clean slate...to make things fair for Jay and all...=P

Jay, Cesar, get in here and post! PRONTO!

Yeah, I approved of this club on AIM.

So there's the clean slate of 0-0, eh? Interesting.
I'll have to remember to make more decks. I only have one more RL deck that I haven't put into the MWS yet.

DEAR LORD, IT'S ABOUT TIME!!!

There used to be one of these, but recently it was rejected since MTG is a game. Then again, it's a card game, and really deserves its own fan club. Oh, and a lot more people play than I originally thought.

By the way, advertising isn't allowed, but we're not advertising. This isn't a thread saying "hey omg lyke j00 nede 2 get t3h MWS!!!11!!one"

...therefore, www.magicworkstation.com is where you can download the online player that a lot of people use. It comes with the online player as well as a library of all the cards up to CHK. For the FOH expansion set, visit this site and follow the directions as listed. And if you want pictures for all the other cards, go to www.mwsdata.com and download the "MWS Assistant." It'll download and install pictures for all the cardsets. Sometimes, it won't grab all of them though. There are also all kinds of different themes and layouts for the MWS player on that site, too.

That reminds me, I need to post up a couple more of my decks on www.essentialmagic.com where my others are.

...okay, so that sounds a lot more like advertising than I thought it would. But it's for a good cause, and it's relevant to the topic, AND I'm not spamming up General Chat with it. So there. I win.

Hey folks.
Well I've been playing like for 4 years MTg now, and would liek to now, what you guys think about, the Soon to be released, if it hasn't been released yet, what do you think of the Expansion Set Betrayers of Kamigawa.
I went to the prerelease but unfortunately only for my promo card and the stuff. I would have liked to play but it wasn't possible. Oh well. So far by now i think the art released in teh cards of the Kamigawa Set is awesome. And for playin concerns, the Samurai and Ninja cards really have a great use.

Cesar, I had expected more of a challenge from you...

I am now 2-0, both games taking place against LocoColt04. I only had 2 lands in the second game, too...O.o

As you can see by looking at my signature, we will be placing our overall records in our sigs, which begins at 0-0 once you join this club. If you are 100000-0 IRL, great for you. In our eyes you are 0-0. Any online games played over Magic Workstation, either against TFF Members or even non-members can be counted in your overall record. If you choose you can also track records against each individual, such as my current 2-0 record against LocoColt04. Those individual records could take up a lot of sig space so those will be tracked in your posts in here. If you were the last one to post in the club and you play another game, then please do not make a second post. There is a nifty EDIT button, and you are more than welcome to use that instead.

After a few more test-runs with this new deck of mine I'll put it out here for all to see. I'm still not sure how it will truly function. Cesar seems to die before it can really get into gear...

EDIT: 5-0 with the deck. I'll see about getting it on here sometime in the near future. I'm now 2-0 against LocoColt and 3-0 against Shadow Otenaki...

Hey now, give me some credit... that second game, I had every one of my most expensive cards in my hand. I should have mulliganed.

And I'd prefer that unless you have a really different or amazing game, there's no point to update every time you play. Just update the numbers in your sig. We can do so much more with this thread than just say "omg lyke i totly baet this 1 guy n he wuz pist off u kno lol" ...right?

Ok guys, i've been inactive in magic for about six months already but before that i was one of the top players in the state of Zulia. I've been doing magic since almost 6 or 7 years now and i can tell you i can be a pain in the ass with my mono green decks.

I was the regional champion of my state three years in a row and i was the undefeated FNM champion since it was instituted in the store i used to play(i'm not kidding when i say i'm damn good in MTG). Unfortunately for a lack of money i haven't been able to go beyond the Mirrodin saga(which storyline sucked but gameplay was amazing).

So i guess i will need an update on the new set; anyhow, am i welcomed here?

Here you will find the library updated to include everything up to Betrayers of Kamigawa. Just download the .rar Base file, and when you extract, place it directly into the MWS folder and tell it to replace the existing base files.

When you do so, however, you will lose Fires of Heaven and you'll have to add that into the library again.

((edit: Oh, and remember to SAVE YOUR LIBRARY both before and after installing Fires of Heaven.))

I just noticed that all of my decks that had FOH cards are now a little screwy. It doesn't recognize that the cards are in the base, even after reinstalling them. However, MWS gives you a nice little list of what's missing, so you can sort alphabetically and add them all back in. Any deck of yours which may have had FOH cards will need to be rebuilt as such.

Meh, messing around with stuff, you saw my latest deck. I wanna get something really good together, something that kills the person after the second turn, since all my decks so far have been slow.

It's been two years since I played my last Magic match, and that was a Booster Draft at school's M:TG club in my junior year.

Gimmie some time to collect my thoughts, learn the program I'm sure someone will bother me with later (I used to use one called Apprentice 2 years ago) and figure out my all star deck I had two years ago and I'll be in buisness.

Good, now you can add a tiny bit to your tiny signature.

If you can't remember all the cards you're wanting, describe some of the abilities or anything you remember about them; I've got a fairly decent knowledge of the whole database, so I can probably figure out which cards used to be in your old deck.

Oh, and the program we're bothering you with is in my first post; also, there's a database update a couple posts above this one.

And speaking of posts, this is my 4000th post. I figured this was as good a place as any, you know?

A Magic update? Sure. I beat John's black/white deck three times in a row with my green/white/blue sliver deck tonight. It's a decent build, but defenseless against things like shadows and slivers. It needs enchantments. So I'm tweaking his deck, which he'd planned on me doing anyway. I'm also building him a deck just for the hell of it. His only request was green, so we'll see what I come up with.

I'm also putting together a sliver deck for Jay. I'll let the colors remain a secret, and you can find out when he smashes you with it.
