I loved FFVIII, personally. I played VII first then VIII and I found that although I'm a devout Sephiroth/Cloud fanboy, FFVIII flowed a lot smoother for me. Even though it took me 100 hours to beat it the first time through(as opposed to 40 something for FFVII), it didn't feel like it took that long. I enjoyed the storyline immensely because I'm a sap and I eat that romance stuff up.

After replaying it I did realize that the junction/draw system made the game way too easy and kind of took some fun out of it the second time around because I found myself spending hours just drawing magic from enemies. However, I don't think I could propose a different system to use instead. I really liked the cinematics and yeah just pretty much loved the overall story.

However, the only other FF I've beaten is VII. I played to disc 3 of IX and quit for some reason then never picked it up, and I'm currently playing VI, which just might take the cake for me.

Oh and by the way... Laguna is my hero! I didn't care much for Squall cuz I felt the whole lone wolf, "I'm bad like Christian Slater" role was a bit cliche and I couldn't really relate to him. Laguna was so me though and I absolutely loved the ending scenes where he flashbacks to giving Raine the ring. Seeing that made the game worthwhile for me.

I like this game to. It was a really good FF. I still think that FF7 better though. FF7 was the first one I played. But FF8 had a good storyline. It was a really well made game.

I think FF8 was the best in the series. It had the best charcters, music, and battle system. The music was so epic, and fitting at every point in the game. The characters some people didn't like, but I thought they were awesome. The only thing that it lacked in 8 was a really good villian. I mean there were the sorceresses, but none of them had such a dominant personality like Sephiroth. The story was very epic, and wonderful. I thought it lasted a good amount of time, and in the end 8 is still my fave.

FFVIII is okay.
The draw system was great. The story was confusing.
The music was sometimes boring. The characters was childish.
That i liked with VIII Was the FMV's and the draw system.
This game is my 4th favorite in the FFseries

It's ok with me... The storyline rocks and besides, it has good graphics matching a 2000 yr .

i played ff8 for about 2 days before i turned it off and stopped playing... it wasn't as bad as FFX, but definately not as good as FF7. i've played FF since it's debute on the 8bit system, and i think i can safely say that most old school ff players prefer the pre-FF8 series. espescially 3 and 7... 2 was nice as well =)

X and XI.... <i'd rather play duck hunt

And with that in mind, FF8 is my fav of all the FF games! I can't really say why I got so addicted to FF8's world, but it just seemed more immersive and real than the other FF games. I felt connected to the characters, where the other FF games had endearing characters for sure, there was just something special about FF8. I love FF8's soundtrack the best too! The junction system feels out of place at first, and cheap people could quite easily use GF's to decrease the difficulty, but for real FF players, those who look for different stategies constantly with combining magic, and abilities and everything else will find FF8 has much to offer. And nothing beats casting AURA on your characters and using limit breaks like MAD on your enemies.
I've played it all the way through 14 times rofl. YES I LOVE THIS GAME! I think, even though YES it was really easy with a lot of things...it still just had great appeal. I mean the creation of the Gublade was so badass, I wanted one for years! Plus it was SERIOUS, (well about 95% of the time), not some anime-happy-go-lucky shit. It was also a very touching story I cried at, yes I cried. And the frichen musical score PWNS! I want it so badly. What else can I say...the FMV sequences were so awesome as well I actually recorded everyone onto a VHS, (before I got DVD XD), and the characters are just so awesome. Hell I even wanted Squall's scar. And how can anyway hate the Draw system? I mean being able to take from an enemy is just awesome. Plus it was easier to deal with.

The game overall was pretty damn easy, but you could hardly put it down. I'm even gonna get a tattoo of Squall's Griever symbol on my arm.

Graphics - 9/10
Sound/Music- 11/10
Gameplay - 9/10 (I said it was easy but it was still super fun)
Story - 9435832059348503/10
Characters - 8/10
Triple Triad - 10/10 (I hated the random rules and shit, but if you played it early in the game it was SO fun)

I could add a ton of more stuff, but I'll just leave it at that. My favorite game of all time.

Depends on what you mean by like. With the single exception of FFX-2 (which I dont class as a 'real' FF and rather a spin off anyways) a title has yet to appear in this series that I did not 'like'.

Now if you asked me if I was exstatically, head over heals in love with the game, well no, nowhere near actually.
It was decent, it was playable, the graphics where nifty, the music thilling and it had the kind of plot we expect from Square by now but it was far from perfect.

For example the characters where not developed anywhere near enough, and when they where it was as steriotypes, angsty ol' Squall, hyper Selphie, goody-two-shoes Zell. They where not dislikable persay, just not loveable either, at least not for me, especially since Squall was so clearly an attempt at crafting another Cloud to try and catch the same kind of interest.
Then theres the much critisised Draw system and the overpowered summon, this game is really wierd to me because you can easily make it to the 'almost-end' without training at all, only to get there and find out all the props are taken away and your left to rely on those levels you dont have. Certainly a unique difficulty curve, but not a very endearing one for the gamer subjected to it.

Not saying its bad though, I started with the plus points and stand by them, like all FF's its kicks the bums of the majority of other RPG's and even other console games on the market both in its time and right now, but as for it making its way into my favourite games of all time list? Nah. Just not gonna happen.

Graphics : 8/10 - I think they made better use of the engine in FFIX)

Sound/Music : 10/10 - Nobuo. I need say no more..

Gameplay : 8/10 - Easy for n00bs, complex for replay but unbalenced as a snowball fighting a dragon

Story : 8/10 - Decent, poor attempt to convey key message and let down by poor cast

Characters - 6/10 (add a point or two if your not as cynical as me or just LIKE the idea of Cloud mark 2)

Overall : 8/10 - Seems a little halfhearted, but definatly still a Final Fantasy to the core.

I can't really express myself properly 'coz I've only played to the end of disc 1. But what I got to play. Well, simply I LOVED IT. I felt kinda the game was seperated on so many disces just to make it look like a big game, when in fact it isn't. Had the same feeling with IX, but I still loved the games. Final Fantasy VIII is great. I like the music, I like the thing with monsters allways being a equelent level as you. That completely takes away the LEVEL UP pressure. Final Fantasy X did a good job with that too, having the sphere grid. But short said, I loved it.
