I have the Japanese ROM and I'm amazed how much the PSX quality is intact. The music sounds great, the graphics look great, and there's NO loading time. I'm not sure though, if any of the original "modes" of gameplay are selectable or not.

There's some kind of unlockable soundtest

There are those extra dungeons at the end of the game but I haven't gotten nearly that far (in fact I've only gotten past Garland)

The game gives you more cash and makes the shops cheaper, it's really easy to buff up on equipment and items early in the game.

I gotta get back to playing it sometime.

Hell, there's a whole lot more in this little, tiny cart than there was on one, big freaking CD! They crammed 4 new dungeons, with bosses from the older games, 4, 5, 6, etc...and they've even changed the Magic system, making mages all that more useful. I'm getting it, I know that much.

As for FF2 I know not a thing about that one...

You can unlock the soundtest by beating the game.

erg, I hate when they put new things into a collection, the people that already bought the game when it came out for psx get ripped . other wise, should be awesome. I know that one of my friends will be anxious to get this. and FF2 is an awesome game. Unlike the first one it has somewhat of a story actually based around your characters. It's like a very old version of the newer ff games.

They will have BOSSES from them, the dungeons are completely new as far as I know.

I know I saw the Ghost Train from FF6 and Atomos from FF5, but the rest is a mystery...w00t

Yes, I did see gilgamesh, but only recently, by the way, your bottom banner, is made from Suikoden III, or are there only parts of it from there?

After seeing the commercial yesterday I find myself heavily on the verge of buying this cart. Even though I already own the nes cart and origins, I just can't resist the call. Now I'm starting to really see how easily companies can play not only off of my nostalgia but my desire to build my GBA library. But past that I hope that the added content really makes this purchase worthwhile. Any word on how much extra content (lenght) there is to be found? Also, what changes were made from the psx version?

I know what you mean. I might get this game when it comes out. They said in a magazine that it is like the original 1 & 2 but with a dungens, and bosses, and other new stuff. I hope they make it better than the one on the PSX. I let one of my friends buy it and see if it is worth me buying.

Well i just got my pre-ordered copy of FF1&2. ive played about 3 hours of it. im curently on FF2. manly wanted to see the improments made to it. it seems to be somewhat easyer but when i got to the frist major dungon i got to the sargent dude and he wiped me. though i wasted alot of my wizared MP. but the leveling seems more balenced than it usted to be. its not very hard to level up your hp. manly just losing 4-15 hp can incress it. same with MP. i have yet to play FF1. the graphics are highly improved. and personly look better than the psx vr.
