Full Metal Alchemist
Who's seen this anime? I have up to episode 45 and it's already on my top 5 favorite anime list. I'm surprised no one's made a thread about it yet..
But never fear, for if you haven't seen it yet you will (if you have Adult Swim). The series has been licensed by Funimation and will be aired around early November. Here's some more info from www.fullmetal-alchemist.com. Quote:

I'm waiting for Adult Swim to put this out in their Saturday block in place of Wolf's Rain-- which is actually ending tomorrow. ^_^ So I'll soon be able to watch this show, I've been looking forward to it too. I looks awsome.... I may also get around to buying it if I end up liking it enough.

I saw the whole series. Might I say that the ending is... kind of anti-climactic (sp?) to say the least. No spoiling, so that's all I'm going to say.
I haven't seen the English version of PMK, so I can't really feel how Al will sound. Though I heard the guy who does Ed, is the guy who does Tai from Digimon. I think he fits Ed's bill just fine. I can't wait till I see it in Adult Swim to see what it sounds like, and if it's been ruined or not. There is a lot of blood in this anime, so I'm eager to see how they'll clean it up.

Sorry, Kana--it looks like I gave you misinformation. The official credits do seem to list Vic Mignogna as Ed's voice actor and not Joshua Seth (the voice of Tai). I guess he just sounds a lot like him, but I was just making that judgment by ear and hearing the episode in a 20,000 seat stadium is bound to have some echoing going on, so...yeah, I guess they just sound similar >_< (And a note for those not aware: At this Summer's Otakon, they screened the first dubbed episode of FMA in the First Mariner Arena prior to L'Arc~en~Ciel's concert performance).
Also of note, those credits listed for Aaron Dismuke are slightly off. He did play the first role listed above, but the other two roles (Tatsu from PMK and Mamoru Torigai from RahXephon) are included in the credits for Ed's VA not Al's. Also, if you haven't heard of Vic Mignogna from those credits, he's also done Brolly's voice in DBZ movie 8 and Kougaiji in Saiyuki. Anyway, getting back to the actual topic here, FMA is on my list of most anticipated domestic releases (along with the PeaceMaker Kurogane dub and Samurai Champloo early next year). I started trying to download the episode literally days before it was licensed, so I never got to it (I don't download anime once it's been licensed). The only episode I've seen was episode 1, which, like I said before, I saw while at Otakon a few months back. I can't wait--only three more weeks to go! ![]()

I just finished the series off with episode 51 yesterday. Well, it may have been a bit anti-climactic but come on, no one saw that one coming. XP Can't wait for the movie to come out!
I won't like whoever is voicing Ed because the Japanese voice suits him so well... they could probably pull off a decent Al though. Only two more weeks!!

I agree with you Necoko, that Ed will be hard to replace, but given his attitude, I think the guy who does Tai, will be the best suited.

Meh, Saw the entire series subbed xD. And when I went to otakon last summer they showed ep 1 dubbed. Voices were okay i guess o.oa Just...uhg, when they show them as kids, their voices are the same as when theyre teens. I didnt like that, ticked me off abit;;; They shoulda made them sound a tiny bit more kiddish TT;

The first two were setting the stage for the show really. introduced a bunch of characters, and how they act, etc.
And last night's, was only the third episode, I believe. So you didn't miss too much, you just won't have a clue about a few people later. (I suppose)
