This question is a tough one, I admit that.

Answer:I doubt it

Reasons why: Because the game looks very dissappointing with a weak storyline about a boy wanting to become an air pilot while all of these other characters have lame reasons to fight as well. The graphics aren't that great. And, Dirge of Cerberus, was a dissappointment to me and I think this one will be as well. I have played the demo and the gameplay is terrible in my opinion-they should've stuck with what all FF's have come to experience:the same gameplay.xD

No one flame me for my views please,

I've gotten every FF game that's come out since my first one, FFVII, and this won't be an exception!

I agree with Loco's original post, i am def an old school Final Fantasy player at heart, but that hasn't stopped me from playing through them all. I have definitely have enjoyed all of them for their own different reasons. Even if i do hate it (which i doubt) i have to continue my tradition of playing every game in the series

And judging by the look and info on XII, i'm about 99.9% sure that i'm going to like this game more so than any of the more recent Final Fantasy titles. I'm glad they got Nomura and co. out of the picture and brought in the Tactics/Vagrant Story team to work on it, i think it's gonna provide for a much needed change in the series. I'm probably not going to get it on the day of release though because i'm a cheap bastard..probably just wait till it's a greatest hits.

Hell no.

Upon FFXII's release, who here actually intends on purchasing this game?
Why (or why won't) you buy it?
I don't want this game. Why? Well, I used to be a much bigger fan of Final Fantasy than I am now. Sure, the graphics are hyped up and pretty. But Since FFX, I can hardly stand to buy new Final Fantasy games.

I liked VI, VIII and IX. But no.

Final Fantasy has changed too much through the years. And I don't exactly like change. I feel my reason is feasable enough.

With all due respect, this game is nothing like FFX. The only real similarity is the License Grid and the fact that it has voiceovers. I really can't even count the License Grid because the only major connection is the fact that its roots are from FFX. The way it functions is inherently superior and different.

From how much I have played so far and from others who are farther, its clear that Squeenix got their head out of whatever teenager's butt they had it up and created a story focused on the world, rather than some 'first love' or 'fill-in-the-blank teen angst crap'. This game is what FF should be like, and to me how it was back in the day.

To me, I can trace the roots of this game not just to FF Tactics, but all the way back to the original FF. You aren't stuck with cookie-cutter characters that are preset by some writer you could care less about. Nope. You pick everything yourself. When did that start? All the way back in FFI. Of course, back then you could only pick the job and that was that. Now if you hate what you picked, you can always switch to something else.

Simply writing this game off as another crap game would be a mistake, IMHO. The demo doesn't even give the game justice. I myself was skeptical at first, but from the moment I started playing the full version... I could tell this was a true FF, not another pale imitation. But hey, don't take my word for it. Find someone who has it and at least try it out.

110% agree with you there. I'm sure not a lot of people will understand but this is really what final fantasy should be like. I know a lot of X fanboys, etc will probably write it off but this is the real deal right here.

Yup. Well, the reason maybe is that the trailers are nice, and its a very nice game, with all the great graphics and the battle system is new, a very interesting one. Well, I liked the story too, and its very nice.

Already bought it without any prior knowledge of what the game is like. Simply purchased it because I enjoy Final
