Pandora's Box

Lila felt drained. She sat on the ground the old vampires conversed about her above her head. Suddenly she felt like a child. Everything is new to her and she saw everything in a new light. Her veins felt dry and hollow, Lila was craving for blood. But in the back of her mind, she felt guilty. She had become a vampire for one reason and now something had changed her thoughts, revenge was now a second priority.

"I'm hungry." she grumbled.

"I guess I'm the first candidate for that since I am the only unarmed human here." the mortal woman joked. Lila eyed her, from toe to head, slowly. And ever so surprising, a subtle heat arose between her legs. It was a sensation she had not experienced in such a long time. Lila bit her lip, the mortal seemed so satisfying as food, yet so deliciously appealing.

Then out of the corner of her eye, a shining stream of light crept into the room. Lila took a step back, she remembered the intense heat she felt last time and did not want a repeat.

The woman, whom they called 'Alex' began to leave commenting on a few things, but all Lila heard was "... feel naked without them."

Though to some extent, it was bothering her, Lila's newfound curiousity was strong. She silently trailed the woman, slipping from tree to tree as she reached the broken apartment.

It was getting quite exciting as the water began to run, and Lila hiding under a cot nearby.

Pandora remained quiet for a moment, Apophys eyes on her. She stared back hard into him, wondering what could have caused such insolence. In the silence Alex stepped away from where she stood, responding to the new fledgeling's second complaint.

"I guess I'm the first candidate for that since I am the only unarmed human here." She crossed her arms across her chest, smirking and looking at the faces around her. She continued, ""If you guys have an idea where Aubrey might be sleeping, then tell me. I will kill him at daylight and it's up to Trask and Zak if they wanted to help. I have unfinished business to settle with that bastard. I'm gonna go back to that building and get the rest of my guns. I feel naked without them."

Pandora nodded to Alex as she slipped out the door, then she walked to the window and pulled the black-out blinds down over the window's prying eyes. Heat and light was creeping back into the sky, just barely over the horizon, but Alex made sure to keep the door closed.

Finally Pandora responded, her voice soft and angry, biting off the consonants, "If I'd had any intention of killing Aubrey, I would have done it when I'd spoken with him earlier. He is a coward and a fool and he doesn't know what he has started."

She paced moodily towards Zak and the shadows of the room, and back again. "I'm here to tell a story, nothing more. I have no need to see Aubrey dead, no more then I enjoy playing with my food." She cast a menacing glance in Zak's direction, "If you cannot understand this or have forgotten what you came to me for then feel free to leave. I do recall leaving off in the middle of a story, a story which I intend to finish, hopefully preventing you all from doing something stupid."

Pandora's dark eyes surveyed the room, noticing the fledgeling gone. She shrugged needlessly as her eyes grazed Trask's neck, his scars, finally meeting his eyes. She looked hard at him, like he was glass. Like she could see through him. She found she'd known he was half vampire since he'd intruded into her home. She wondered if it was worse that way, a little piece of the thing one hates most within the other. She toyed with the idea of bleeding him dry just to see if he'd die.

"Shall I continue?"

Alex, still shocked with the writing on the wall suddenly heard a brushing sound nearby, she looked and saw the young vampire hidden under the shadows.

"What the..how did you get here? It was daylight. Did you do these writings??" she asked not even pausing for a bit and then pointing her gun at the vampiress.

"No, I didn't. I just followed you. My name's Lila." the vampire replied.

"Okay Lila, be thankful that Pandora saved me a couple of times or I would've shot you at the head right now.Vampires earned a little respect from me but dont push it I wont hesitate once you make a wrong move. I know you're hungry but I have no intention of wanting to be your breakfast." she hissed. Lila just stared back at her with a slight grin. Alex felt a little uncomfortable and shifted her look away from the young vampire and stared at the markings on the wall instead while tracing the fresh wound on her chest.

"So what do you want Lila?" she asked her long brown hair still dripping with water and Alex wanted to get dressed. For some strange reason, she felt that Lila was staring right through her.

Lila watched each drop of water trickle across the woman's skin. She had never felt so aroused and hungry at the same time. The coolness of the air pressed up against the woman's skin and Lila could see little goosebumbs she longed to taste.

"So what do you want Lila?" Alex asked. Lila opened her mouth to respond, but instead, her body did. She trode forward stopping abruptly infront of Alex, their faces mere inches apart. Lila felt Alex's hot breath on her skin. She starred into her eyes, their face level and a force of attraction drawing Lila's body close to Alex's. She didn't know how the woman would respond but Lila gently brushed her lips against her's and whispered, "I'm hungry."

Alex stood stiff as a stone as Lila went forward in front of her. Alex stepped back until the bathroom wall stopped her from moving away- tTheir faces now only a few inches away from each other. Lila's eyes never left hers. Alex wanted to look away but some strange force seemed to engulf her.

Alex was well aware at how vampires loved to seduce their victims before moving in for the kill. Their dark charms and sexy ways were hard to resist but Alex always got away from it in the past. But she had never been in this situation before - where she stood there almost naked and a female vampire doing this to her instead. She felt like a helpless but willing victim as Lila pressed her body closer to Alex.

"I'm hungry" Lila whispered as her soft cold lips brushed against hers.

"I...I'm not interested.." was all Alex could say under breath as she tightened her grip on her handgun but Lila's hands gently pulled it away from Alex.

"I believe we're not going to need this." Lila whispered softly, her lips still touching Alex's but letting Alex feel a little bit of her tongue this time.

Pandora finished her story quickly, not wanting to waste the entire day.

Vampires had become perverse in their ways. There were too many of them, and too few humans. Some fed off their own kind, feasting on immortal blood only to thirst again all that much sooner. There were those who decided to do something about this problem and spent their nights killing off fledgelings, one after the other. Hoping to reduce the vampire population. Some vampires made themselves gods, keeping a mortal haven safe from other vampires in exchange for an offering each night. Vampires would rape mortals, and hideous half breeds were born of this. Then there were vampires like Aubrey, killing off humans because of his hatred for vampires. It was chaos everywhere, and this imbalance had awoken the ancient ones. They were somehow meant to put an end to all this.

"But how?" someone spoke. Pandora realized she was actually to be a part of this. She had been found by Apophys, there was no avoiding it anymore, something had to be done.

"I don't know." Her voice was flat and tired. "I don't Know"

Suddenly she sat up straight, her eyes angry and vicious. She strode to the window and threw back the curtains. She winced as the heat filled the room and blinded her. She sought out Lila with her mind, finding Alex there too...

"Goddamnit Luccia! Can you not mind your own fledgelings? You're no better then the idiots today. You take care of what is yours!" She snapped, flinging open the door and setting out into the steadily rising sun.

Seconds later she stormed into the abandoned building, the bathroom door slamming against the wall. Alex was naked, pressed against the wall by Lila's body. Pandora couldn't read Alex's face, but when Lila turned she was drunk on fear and blood. She hadn't drank much but a trickle ran down Alex's neck, a violent contradiction against her pale skin.

Pandora grabbed Lila by the arm, 'Get dressed.' she hissed to Alex, and dragged Lila out of the house and into the sunlight. The fledgeling screamed and hissed, strugging furiously against Pandora's grip but it was no use. The sun was up now, blinding white on the horizon. Pandora could feel it's heat and pain against her face and chest, but it throbbed in Lila, being only a fledgeling. They were in Pandora's house soon enough, in the dark. She strode past Apophys and Trask and down the stairs to her bedroom. She flung Lila onto the bed and spoke, her voice calm. "Stay here."
She ascended the stairs again, resuming her seat on the velvet chaise to wait for Alex.
"She stays until tomorrow night, then she is your responsibility." she spoke to Luccia. "Tomorrow we will decide what to do with this mess."
