((OOC: It's great! Don't worry! & Sorry the post is so short! I can't think of a lot to say!))
"Something? In my apartment?" Amythest started giggling. "All you're gonna find there is a nice white sofa and something quite artistic on the wall..." "The Etruscans..." Rhea mumbled. "The what?" Amythest blinked twice in puzzlement still being carried by Seaph. "Umm... Nothing!" Rhea smiled. It seemed like she didn't want to tell Amythest yet. "Fine then..." Amythest turned her head around to the back of Seaph's head. "I can almost swear you're enjoying carrying me around like this!" She joked and turned her head back to Rhea. "So... What are you looking for then? Give me every single detail and don't miss out on one!" She smiled while being interested in Rhea's problems. |

Rhea hesitated, looking down at the shadows beneath her feet. She'd kept the Etruscans to herself and to the man that haunted her dreams every night for such a long time she wasn't sure she wanted to share such a delicate thing.
"My husband was an artist..." she started, the word 'was' sticking in her throat. "And I thought I might look around his old apartment for a mural he'd left behind..." Rhea's gaze swept over the city streets and it's people at once, drawing it all in with a deep breath and smiling up at Amy. "Only once you're out of the hospital of course, you hit the ground pretty hard, you might have a concussion." Rhea laughed without meaning to, thinking of how she sounded, then looked apologetically up at Amy. The persistant roar of the city's noise seemed to dissapate and Rhea let out a sigh, smiling to herself... "Hey, we're here!" she announced, seeing the red cross hanging above a doorway. She peeked her head inside and cringed. She'd always hated hospitals, the nauseating white walls, the constant presence of death, the whimpers and screams that built up within the clean white prison. Everything was so sanitary she felt dirty as she stepped inside... Rhea walked up the the front desk as Seaph put Amy down into a wheelchair and wheeled her over... |

"I'm pretty sure I'm fine you guys!" Amythest smiled while cringing at being here. "And I'm sure my feet are working well..." She saw Seaph place her in a wheelchair.
"Hello, Welcome to Havendale Hospital, how may I help you?" The woman at the front office asked Rhea. She had a nice smile and a friendly face... Shame her big eyebrows ruined her appearance though. "Well, my friend here had fainted a few minutes ago, she's got her conciousness again but I fear about any injuries as she fell onto the ground pretty badly..." Rhea explained. "Ok then..." The woman smiled then noticed the wheelchair. "Is she...?" She began to ask. "No! No, no no..." Amythest smiled as she got out of the wheelchair. She had to think for a moment, it would sound strange saying... 'This complete stranger just thought that my legs were going to be weak!' ...So Amythest went with the first thing that came to her mind. "My boyfriend is just that extra bit aware of my health..." She smiled as Seaph and Rhea exchanged puzzled looks. Amythest looked at them and mouthed at Seaph... "Go with it!" She just wondered what Seaph would've said. |

Seaph cleared his throat and pinched the bridge of his nose while looking down at the floor, as if he was thinking very big thoughts. He straightened up with a jerk andsent the nurse a great big smile, "Yeah. I'd feel bad if she had to walk all the way over here after passing out like that, so I decided to carry her."
He stepped over next to her and placed his arm around her, giving her a comforting slap on her shoulder in the proces, "I'd hate if anything happened to the love of my life." He let the smile linger for a little longer before becoming inactive again. Women.. |

Rhea smiled at Seaph's reaction and watched the two.
"So, do you think you can take her now? Just for a check-up?" The receptionist smiled doubtfully but her fingers began to hum on the keyboard before her. She stared thoughtfully at the screen... "Dr. Clauden can take you but he's with a patient right now. If you'll wait a couple minutes in the waiting room over there.." She raised a plump arm and pointed at the door a few feet down the hall... "He'll be with you in just a moment." The receptionist's...Rhea peered at her name tag...Linda's face was bathed in the faint glow from the computer screen as she went back to work, her rather large eyebrows drawn together in a look of concentration. Rhea rolled the wheelchair back to it's place by the door and walked with the two to the dim waiting room. There were magazines adorning every piece of furniture save the chairs they sat in. A T.V. in the corner babbled on about the weather and a teenager found frozen in a snow drift up in the Pocono mountains. "So." Rhea said with finality, looking around the room at the few faces there. All were bored and hostile, like if you even tried to start a conversation they'd start yelling. "Boyfriend huh?" Rhea smiled, looking Seaph over. His steel blue eyes remained unchanged as he watched the live footage of the scene where the boys' bodies were discovered just moments ago... |

Amythest looked back at Rhea. She didn't honestly believe that they were going out... Did she? Amythest blinked twice at the thought. She was friendly, funny and had the general wild-child nature... Seaph? Well, he... He wasn't...
"You think we're... For real?" Amythest asked Rhea with a tiny giggle of pity accidentally slipping out. "...I don't know... Are you?" She looked at Amythest. Amythest couldn't help but giggle. "No, we're not!" She explained then whispered to her. "It just seemed awkward saying that a complete stranger liked carrying women so I tried a different idea!" It was very strange for Amythest anyway... She was almost best friends with Rhea already. It was different, at this rate, she should be bankrupt more often! |

Seaph detached himself from watching the tv and looked in silence at the two women, one of them his fake girlfriend. If he had known how his day would've been as he had awakened that morning, he'd turned around and slept on.
Though that would probably have given the cat a chance of using his car as its private litterbox. ...The car! He'd forgotten to lock it up after battling with the cat, he absentmindedly scratched his bandaged hand, the healing proces had kicked in and it itched something so terribly. And he had also offered her a job, He glanced at Amethyst and wondered if she was able to cope with the kind of job he did. She didn't look like she had any practice, but she could always start in with the simple stuff or take some classes. Up in the television, the reporters were doing their best to describe the personal tragedy and horrific loss the families of the teenagers were going through. They had already located the family of one of the dead, broadcasting from within the very living room the dead kid had used to frolick in. Two adults, a man and a woman, the parents, were sitting in a couch, both in tears while the reporter tried to get them to talk about their dead kid. Seaph's upperlip curled up in disgust, his teeth glinting in the artificial light from the flourescent tubes in the ceiling. He hated those kinds of tv shows, it was nothing more than emotional pornography, nothing was sacred anymore in the hunt for sensations and viewers. |

Rhea decided that Amy was very cheerful for a concussion victim, she only hoped that meant she didn't have one! Rhea pulled at a loose thread in her knit sweater, watching it unravel.
"Oh! I didn't know you guys were complete strangers! I don't know about you but any guy who'd carry me nine blocks without even knowing me, I'd hang on to!" she smiled at Seaph who was sitting on the other side of Amy. Rhea gazed down at the cold white tiles beneath her feet that reflected the light from the ceiling. She imagined she was falling into them, through them. She closed her eyes and felt her body tense as though she was on the edge of a cliff about to slip. Voices crawled up the cliff after her and soon she was back in the to bright waiting room, waiting. She looked across the row of seats facing them where a man sat transfixed by the TV, he was wearing a face of grim satisfaction. She grabbed the remote and snapped the TV off, shrugging off his glare. After a moment she sighed and kicked off her Uggs and pulled back a strand of black hair from her face... "So, where were you two strangers off to?" She smirked, noticing they'd both been doing some thinking. |

((I KNOW, double posting but POST! NOW!))
Soon the conversation lapsed into a heavy silence. The wait and the empty air was too much for Rhea. "You look fine!" She stood up and looked closely at Amy, her eyes pleading, "I don't mind staying if you think we should but I've been searching for this piece of art for two years now! I've been in and out of at least 20 houses and I'm this close!" She held up her hand, exasperatedly, "and still I have to wait!" She felt their eyes on her and lowered her head in shame. "I-I'm sorry, I've just waited very long...." her voice trailed off. She was nervous and anxious and choking on some inexplicable fear. Whispering, the voice in her head chattered like a trained monkey. The white walls were screaming at her and every time she breathed the smell of the hospital burned in her lungs. She didn't know why but her heart was beating uncontrollably. The T.V. sizzled to life and Rhea's eyes went from the remote, to the hand holding it, up to the old man's drooping eyes. She glared... "If you don't mind I mean..." she said to Amy and Seaph, keeping her eyes on the old man... Last edited by Adonai; 01-15-2004 at 03:06 PM. |

"No problem..." Amythest smiled. "If it means that much to you, you should... You know... Go!" Rhea's eyes beamed like she had just found the answer to eternal life.
"...Why?" She suddenly froze out of her daze. "Huh?" Amythest pouted. "You don't believe that I'm letting you do this freely?" "No, it's not that!" Rhea tried to tell her what she meant, but she couldn't. "Trust me..." Amythest smiled. "What's wrong?" |

"Trust me..." Amythest smiled. "What's wrong?"
Rhea frowned slightly at the word...'trust.' She sighed, trying to explain but not being able to. The solid floor held beneath her feet and the tiles danced around her, lines upon lines. The TV droned on stubbornly and Amythest's words waited patiently. "Well..." Rhea cocked her head, gazing at Amy's smiling face. It was full of understanding and friendship that she hadn't known before. She looked over at Seaph whose bright eyes encouraged her to speak. "Come with me?" She spoke to the both of them. Her own voice made her laugh. She hung her head as she switched her gaze to Amy, slightly embarrassed. "You know, I don't want to get arrested for breaking and entering!" She covered, her face smirking at the cold wall behind Amy that seemed far less threatening then it had a few moments ago. She listened but heard nothing. Her own laughter and the voices of these perfect strangers was the only thing she heard, and she was glad of it. Glad of her own laughter and glad of these perfect strangers. "Are we going to help you steal art?" Seaph cocked his head and looked curiously at Rhea. He wasn't sure if that was the case, but on the other hand, he didn't worry too much about the prospect of breaking the law.
The old man stopped paying attention to the tv as he heard the word "steal". He suddenly didn't really liked sitting in near the odd people, especially the woman who was standing up worried him greatly. |

"If you think about it... It isn't technically stealing!" Amythest tried reassuring Seaph and Rhea.
"How do you mean that?" They both looked at her. "Well, it's in my flat!" Amythest explained. "If I knew you guys were taking what's 'rightfully' mine then it wouldn't be stealing!" She smiled at them. "I guess you're right..." Rhea mumbled keeping a close eye on the old man, it looked like he was heading for a cellphone, which everyone knew would mess up the hospital systems if one was on. "I think we better get going..." Seaph whispered to Amythest before she got up out of her chair. Rhea walked over to the main office again and explained that Amythest didn't need to be checked on. "Well, next stop... My empty flat!" Amythest smiled whilst expecting to be carried by Seaph again. |

What an odd day it had been so far. Seaph scratched his lower back and stretched, the chair had been a little hard and he looked forward to the small walk.
He was about to walk to the door when he notcied Amethyst was looking at him, smiling as if she was waiting for something to happen. He stopped, looked at her without really staring, and tried to think of why she was expecting anything of him. "Oh.." It dawned on him that she expected him to carry her again. He glanced over at the fat nurse behind the counter. She was preoccupied with her computer, though he wondered if she would ask questions if he decided to pick up Amethyst and carry her. A pause, a consideration, then a shrug as he made his decision. Bending down, he picked Amethyst up and slung her over his shoulder in the same fashion he had done earlier the same day. He turned and waited for Rhea to finish explaining things. |

Rhea laughed at the sight. Amythest seemed alittle exasperated but happy all the same, and Seaph casually indifferent.
She caught herself before the nurse, Linda, heard and cleared her throat. They started out into the glaring sunshine, glistening on every part of the city it touched. "My husband, he was an artist, like I told you." Rhea said as they walked. "Koren Wildhers, he was actually pretty famous, but under a pseudo name. He died of blood poisoning a few years ago." Rhea swallowed, paused for a moment, then continued, "His...his last words were to save the Etruscans..." She looked up at Seaph and what she could see of Amythest "Well, I didn;t have any idea what it meant! I mean I kept hearing it over and over again when I slept. I'd have nightmares about Koren. I went on depression medication, I even had to go into the hospital once because I was having hallucintations!..." Rhea looked up, startled. She hadn't meant to say all that. She'd never told anyone any of this! She pulled her eyebrows together in concentration, continuing again. "I found a photograph in his one of his portfolios. It was of these soldiers marching on Athens. Their was just so much life in it! I knew this was what he meant. He wanted someone to see it. He wanted me to make his work famous. I travelled to every house, apartment, and hotel that I knew he'd lived in, searching for the Etruscans. That's why I'm here..." Rhea felt relieved but worried what they'd think. The heat was almost visible steaming off the sidewalk. Not too many people were outside but the sun gleamed in the sky, too hot to look at, and the heat made the air thick and moist. Rhea looked back at Seaph and Amythest... |
