Leveling.

Got the idea from Dawezy who in the OSFFC said leveling was a bitch. And it is, I hated doing it. I had to to beat the final boss, but it was such a biatch. Who else feels like complaining?

I still haven't really finished the game....
I ahte the leveling up..it's easy now to get the jobs masters..since I just battle a bit at the part before the battle with X-Death..but the leveling up surely is a pain in the ass...it just goes way too slow.
The best way possibly is to defeat the iron giants..that give you 2500 exp..but even then it will take ages to get at a decent level..

I'm at level 53 now with everybody..but my characters ain't good enough I think...

I'll give you a rant alright XD lol..

On my PSX FF5 round right now, my guys are like this;

Bartz: Lv49
Reina: Lv48
Krile: Lv49
Faris: Lv49

And hot damn, in some particular fights i STILL get beat down to a pulp and have to resort to running like a little child before i have to reset, lol. So... Unless atleast 3 of my character have the SwrdGrb Ability, or hell strong armour.. i usually have to resort to chewing up alot of my MP to get the damn battle done.. but once you get into a routine kind of thing, your right, the battles go by reasonably easy.

Still overall hard as **** though.. bleh -_-

Leveling wasn't too hard, you only have to do it to 40-50 or so (I did anyway). I find the final boss incredibly easy. I beat the game at level 40 or 50, using my favourite tactic, which dawezy might remember me mentioning a while back in this forum:

Give three characters the mime job (NOT the ability... the job) and give them all three abilites each : White, $toss and anything else (I normally go for black or time). Make the other character a knight so somebody can use items. Also give the knight the $toss ability.

Get Haste cast on your party, then basically have your Knight $toss every round and get the mimes to mimic it. When it is mimiced, no gil is lost, and each time with $toss I do about 15000 damage each time as the final boss has four hit spots (that 3750 each)
Works like a charm.

plus with toss by the end of the game you don't have to worry about runnning out of the gil you need for the newest weapons! hehe I found leveling to not be the hardest but thats cause last time I played a long time ago I only got to the second world.....now leveling up in job classes was another subject at the time......

Well I didn't like the idea of only getting maximum 1500 exp. outside N-Zone and your next level needs 50,000 for the next level. I could only get them to lv. 51 and thats because I just like to train, but it started to get a little bit like LOD, a pain in the ass.

But I didn't had that problem of getting killed and that stuff. I had with Bartz:

Bare
HP+30%
S-Shot
Ragnarok, Strato
Genji Armor
Ribbon
Protect Ring

With that I attacked 8 times around 1600 each per round so that makes it about 12,800 and about 60% of the time I did critical hits with the Strato.

Krile:

Bare
!Black: to max
!Time: to max
Ice Shield
Ribbon
Magus Rod: powers up all elemental attacks
Black Rob
Red Shoes

I did with this girl about 4500 with any "3" spell, she has a MagPow at 72 or so, and since she had Time magic in it she could do Meteo and Haste2.

Reina:

Bare
!White: to max
!Summon: to max
Sage Staff: powers up Holy, I put this on her because with this thing she could do over 6000 with Holy
Genji Shield
Ribbon
Black Rob
Protect Ring

Like I said before, she could do 6000 with Holy, and with a MagPow of 70 she could really pack a punch with Bahamut.

Faris:

Bare:
HP+30%
!Jump
Holy Lance, Masamune
KraisrKKnuckle
Genji Helmet
BlackCostume

I didn't knew what to do with him but put him with Jump so he does twice the damage with Holy Lance and the same time doing damage with the Masamune. In total it did about 7000 of damage.

With this I beated X-Death and Neo-X-Death, but I had to change the strategy to beat Omega and Shinryu.

About the Genji Armour...
I have defeated all, but Omega, Shinryu and X-Death...
Is there still a way for me to get those kind of armours?

Btw Vivi..for the money..don't start all over again..just fight those movers...they're eays...just do it fast....even if people get petrified just use soft on them....use $toss, Sshot on them and maybe Bahamut...and then they're finished..hehe.

i Found leveling fun in this game. i got pretty high when i was lil. i dont remeber much i need to play it again. but the jobs and getting new skills drived me to do more and more untill i masterd everthing. but i still keep training. i think i got to 61 and just decided to fight the final boss. took me lil time to bet him. but now FF games i cant train as well. only FF5 was i really enjoying leveling.

One reason I hate this game to death, the leveling. I beat the game with my characters at about lever 47. It sucked, I barely hung on. This game was hell and I friggin hate it.

Yeah, leveling was something to get tired of. Very tired of. Almost on half the game you spend your time leveling cuz its too slow! But, X-Death wasnt too hard, considering the fact that my level was at 54.

Dont hesitate ppl, about those final bosses. They're meant to be hard and you will beat it out sometime.

I try level each charater up indevidually with this set up;

Bare
Blood Sword
Blood Sword
Ribbon
Genji Armor
Protect Ring

X-Fight(100% hit rate hehehehe)
And whatever, mind you I had all classes mastered.

Well where in the game can you get the most experience on a regular basis?

From which monster or group of monsters and where is the location, so that leveling up can go as fast as possible???

Unfortunately on the N-Zone. Outside of it just about the islands where Mirage Town is and I think in one of the caves, but I honestly don't remember any other place. Outside the N-Zone the max exp. you'll get i about 1,000, inside the N-Zone about 1,500; Its still not that much, specially if you lv. up in the N-Zone since the monster there are harder and longer to beat, and they are sometimes a pain in the ass if you let them be.

I didn't find it that hard to level. Since I was soon starting to master the red mage with all chars I ended up at level 59, beating Neo X, Omega and Shinryu with ease. I also spent a lot of time searching and smashing yojimbos (or wtf) for getting their kick ass katanas. I found the whole game too easy. The only thing I missed was reaching the end of gizarmalukes (or wtf) grotto and I never got that genji stuff but it's not that important imo. As far as I know if Gilgamesh is finally defeated, you have no chance to get the genji stuff.
