Will there be a prequel to FFT

Both the fifty year war and the time of St. Ajora are shrouded in mystery and I think we all would like to learn more about those two time periods

I'm sorry to say this, but I don't think there will be a prequel. I think it would be pretty cool, but I don't think there will be one. If one was done that would be cool if you could play as Balbanes. You hardly even got to see him. You see him in the begining of the game and then he dies. I would like to see a prequel that had a story around either Balbanes or St. Ajora.

Spoiler: at the end the blody angel did say something about ramza being a desendent of the person that killed him last time, atleast im sure he did i havent played the game for a while

FFXII is based way before FFT. I think this person means a direct prequel. One that uses the same world map and all.

Yes. I'm in agreement with the direct prequel assumption.
FFXII is way, way, way before FFT's time. They mention it and all, but.. no.

And yes, it would be neat to see a Prequel, but then it'd be another "spinoff" that would piss people off. >.>

What kind of confuses me is Balthier's sudden inclusion in the FF Tactics canon... considering how far back FFXII takes place (presumably around the time shortly after or shortly before Ajora due to the presence of Airships, more likely after due to the use of the Glabados affirmation of "Faram"), how the hell does Balthier play into the equation?

Also, a prequel game would be wonderful, but I'm thinking that the War of the Lions remake is going to have much better translation plus more backstory than FFT would have originally allowed for. Maybe it'll clear a few things up?

I remember seeing a graphic timeline somewhere, probably on wikipedia, and there's apparently a HUGE time gap between FFXII and FFT, so there is plenty of story to fill. I'm really hoping that this remake of FFT will definitely fill in a lot of story holes, but there's so much that doing prequels would be an excellent choice. I wonder if FFTA2 is goign to be based directly off of the real Ivalice (as opposed to the fake one in FFTA) or if the story will have nothing to do with any of the histories/world from FFXII/FFT. Time to do some minimal research.

Your right about both things for two reasons
1) we all know next to nothing about ST Ajora and we could learn more about him
2) I would be cool to be able to play as balbanes and learn more about him and to learn what really went on during the fifty year war
