Opinions on the red armbands...

Though the action flies by so quickly in Advent Children, all, or nearly all, of the core members from FFVII are wearing red armbands. I was wondering what peoples' opinions are on this. If we get a few replies, then I'll post mine.

Well, I think I remember reading that those were in tribute to Aeris or somesuch.

Also, those might be the ever-elusive Ribbon accessory. They must've gone through some trouble to find one of those for each party member.

To be honest, I never even really noticed them until my 2nd or 3rd watching of Advent Children.

So, my opinion of them is that they are largely unnecessary, unless you care a great deal about the remembrance of Aeris.

Well, Rasler's first point about Aeris is exactly what I thought. I noticed them on my first watching, and the color very closely matches her outfit. I like the idea of wearing a token in remembrance... after all, without the past, there can be no future.

I think the movie made too big of a deal out of Aeris. It's been two years...they should've began to move on and forget....or at the very least they shouldn't have all co-ordinated together before the crisis with Bahamut to all wear them. Bah...

Anyways, I didn't care for it.

um i think that the ribbons are to remember Aerith and keep her in their memory, too bad she's hardly mentioned in the movie though.

I think it could be a possibility of reasons.
The already mentioned Aeris tribute ribbon.
The Accessory Ribbon.
or maybe as like something to do with geostigma, real life diseases have charitable armbands etc. the ribbon may be to do with that.
It might just be their clans colours lol.

Harsh, nobody wants to forget about a loved one who has died. Most people like to keep remembering them!

Anyway.. I suppose that's why they where them, to remember or honor Aeris. I like that they did that, it proves they still care and remember her even after her life ended. I don't really know what else they could have been for. Perhaps they were some sort of accessory as previously stated but the Aeris reason sounds better.
