Final Fantasy I & IIj Remade for PSP
Yet ANOTHER remake for the ever popular Final Fantasy I and IIj... only this time it is for the widescreen Sony PSP. Quick buck for SE? probably... but still a good way to help celebrate the franchise's 20th anniversary.
Full Story: Source (GameSpy) ----- Square Enix has announced that the first two games in its endearing Final Fantasy saga will appear on Sony's PSP. Commonly referred to as the grandpappy of console RPGs (by we GameSpies, at least), both titles will receive a complete graphical overhaul and appear in glorious widescreen as befits the sumptuous PSP aspect ratio. All new character art, enemy graphics and viewing perspectives will grace both Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II. A look at these screens should clue you in to how much care and attention Square Enix has lavished on both of these titles. Fortunately, we won't have to wait very long to bask in the warming glow of Final Fantasy's majesty as Final Fantasy will be released on June 26 and Final Fantasy II should appear on July 24. They'll retail for $29.99. --- |

Just read the article. Do you know if the games are headed to AU as well at the same time, or are Aussies everywhere gonna have to wait again? Waiting for FFXII was pain enough........
That said, the screenshots looked awesome. And I noticed Wedge was there.

Separate releases at $30 each sounds like a ripoff to me. Sure, the updated graphics look nice, but nice enough to charge three times as much as the GBA set of I/II? I don't think so.

Allmost makes me want a psp, even though i have beaten FFI.

It's unusual for a second remake. Maybe it means they will do even more remakes of 3, 4, 5, 6, and so on.
It probably is a quick buck for them, they might need the additional funding for FFXIII series that comes out next year.

I'm quite pleased by this, actually. I'm not a big fan of FF re-re-re-re-remakes, but I'm quite happy that the PSP is finally getting the attention and software that will get it noticed by the hardcore DSers. With the price drop of the system itself and a slew of FF titles coming out for it in the near future, the PSP is finally going to stand up to the DS.

actully there is its called crisis core and being remade from the phone to the console to get back topic its worth the i bought ff1 and by the time ff2 came out i had already beat and was waiting for it
