What are the best classes to start with (Wind Crystal Set)?
I say Warrior, Thief, White Mage and Black Mage.

After getting the first set of jobs, I changed to have my party as follows, Thief, Red Mage, Warrior, and Monk. I haven't gotten far, yet, but the only job I'm not happy with changing to is the Monk. Not much for me. So, I'll probably have him change to a Black Mage. I don't want to jump around in occupations much.

I started with Ingus as warrior, Arc as black mage, Reifia as White mage and Lunet as Red mage. These classes worked really well for me, you can heal, attack well and cast offensive magic.
If you watch the starting credits the classes they chose were practically the same, but Ingus and Lunet are switched. I didn't notice this until I got onto the second part of the game.

I used - Red mage Warrior Monk and Black mage. The red mage dealt a decent amount of dmg and healed the party with low-level white magic, but I didn't really use him for black magic.

I used:
Monk(kept him that way until I unlocked the blackbelt which is near the end of the game. He was useful the whole time) White Mage(kept him until I unlocked the devout, which is near the end of the game. He was useful the whole time) Black Mage(Changed her into a Geomancer when I got the chance.) Thief(kept him until I unlocked the ninja, which is near the end of the game. He was pretty useful)

You don't need a Scholar for Hein. I originally thought (after I beat him with a Scholar) that I could use a White Mage's Libra ability so that I could do the same thing a Scholar does and still keep my healing. Then I discovered that with a Geomancer, in dank and dark places like Hein's castle, the Terrein ability is Shadowflare which nukes Hein off of the face of the Earth in one shot, dealing about 5,000 damage.
