Do you have any recommendations on what job(s) to choose, or advice? Post them here.
1st set: I suggest getting a white or red mage and a warrior. 2nd set: Get a geomancer, a scholar for the Hein part and a knight. 3rd set: Take a dragoon, a dark knight and an evoker. 4th set: A ninja, a sage or devout and a summoner would be good ideas.

2 sages? One devout and one magus would be better since sages don't have much MP... Summoners are good with the special summons (Odin, Bahamut and Leviathan). 2 ninjas wouldn't be bad, though.

Oh, I meant on the DS version. I heard that Ninja was the best job in the NES version, but in the remake jobs are more equal.

My final classes were ninja, knight, and 2 sages. The sages can learn summoning spells, but at the end boss I didn't use summons at all. Both of my sages knew cure4 and haste that was really helpful.

On the DS version
Black Belt/Dragoon - I prefer Black Belt but soem people I know still like Dragoon with two Blood Lances or Holy Lance or Blood lance, because of the self healing. Devout Ninja Free, but I'd recomend a Knight, especially if you intend on doing Eureka, because the class gains to excellent weapons.

I'd say:
White mage - Really great for healing and you can just put them to rear at the star of battle. They can also cast protect and a few offensive spells. Archer - I just find that this class make it much easier to fight against bosses. They're great against flying enimies too. They have decent armour and, once leveld up a bit, they are very powerful! Warrior - They have high attack and defence points. This makes them useful in battle and they can use nearly any weapon and armour which you pick up throughout the game. Evoker - Summons bigass monsters and can be put to rear at the start of battle so it doesn't die too easily. Very powerful beast summons.

I went with a ninja, a devout, a geomancer, and a blackbelt.
For the last boss you NEED someone who can cast arise, curaga and curaja turn after turn. That's the devout. Ninjas can deal a lot of damage in a relatively short amount of time. Black belts are like tanks. They can take a hit, and deal a lot of damage at the same time. And geomancers are just plain cool.

Alright, let me start off by saying this: YOU DO NOT NEED A SCHOLAR FOR HEIN! I will explain later.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1st team: Luneth: Warrior Arc: White Mage Refia: Black Mage Ingus: Monk 2nd team: Alright, I actually learned several interesting things about Hein. When I first fought him, I used a Scholar and it was rediculously hard because I made my White Mage my Scholar and so I was losing my healing powers. So I discovered, hey, why can't I just use the White Mage's Libra ability, because I'm still using the Scholar's ability and I still have my healing after that. Then I discovered, hey, I can just make one of my characters a Geomancer and use Terrain, because in dank dark areas like his dungeon, Terrain is a move called Shadowflare which just nukes him off the face of the planet before he can change his weakness. No need for scaning. Luneth: Warrior Arc: White Mage Refia: Geomancer Ingus: Monk 3rd team: Luneth: Bard (Holy CRAP are they strong....) Arc: White Mage Refia: Evoker Ingus: Dragoon (These things are so awesome...) 4th team: Luneth: Bard/Ninja Arc: Devout Refia: Summoner Ingus: Dragoon (By this point his level 70 job level) |
