FFIII: Shields or Swords?

The Iron Giant may be the best flame to test the steel, but which do you prefer, Shields, or Swords?

Shields will give you the endurance you need, equipping one with a weapon is very helpful to some. But then there's the polar opposite of dual swords.

So... Onion Blade + Ultima Weapon, or Onion Blade + Onion Shield?

I prefer the two swords, since I found out there isn't a real damage limit.

Two swords but I think the game sorta emphasized more on defense to a certain degree because if your up against a typical monster(powerful) it's usually doing a lot of damage above normal than any of the FF games(the ones that don't have the two-sword slot in game). Try to look and think about the iron giant and it's requirements in defeating it. Some FAQS require you to have two sheilds in both hands. But I use two swords instead to be honest

For my knight, I go two shields + defend. It's nice to see mobs do 1 dmg to him instead of 300 damage to my dying scholar.

I don't see him him saying anything about attacking.

My knight doesn't attack, all he does is defend. I get easy job level that way (fastest to act before anyone).

My scholar uses items (farmed at different places; currently in love with Heavenly Wrath, farmed near water temple via random encounters) to deal 7000+ dmg. My black belt uses boost + attack combo to deal 9999+ dmg, and my white mage only need to worry about cure on knight or curaga on party when an aga spell is thrown at party. If I really needed the damage, I can also swap the white mage for a ninja or thief... which I've gotten thief mastered already...

for me i gose to 2 swords cause u can make multiple damage out of it. u can easyli kills a lot of enemy
but heres only a notice: that whenever u an enemy launches its attack to u maybe it would became multiple damage

2 Swords. The only time that I think I ever equipped a shield was the fight with the cloud of Darkness.

2 swords always - even went into the last battle with 2 weapons. the damage is just so much higher - and after you get all the legendary items from eurika, there's no reason to not have all 4 equipped on you melee units.

Two swords, I defeated every boss in-game with double weapons, even when fighting against Cloud of Darkness.

I used two swords throughout the whole game, I never equipped shields. I did have to fight the cloud of darkness a couple times but I don't think that has to do with me not using a shield.

I love dual wielding, in my opinion I prefer power over defense.

i prefer 2 swords. reason:with 2 swords not only do u do more damage but u get more hits in. even thow half my team is spell casters........
