FFXIII demo scheduled this year

According to the latest issue of Dengeki, Square Enix is preparing a Final Fantasy XIII demo for July this year.

"We are hoping to have a playable demo ready for E3 in 2007," an unnamed company spokesperson told the magazine.

Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII are two alternate titles featuring different characters, worlds and stories. Both will be available on PS3 simultaneously, and will make up "the new tale of the crystal", or Fabula Nova Crystallis.

Little is known on the actual content of the demo at this point. More information will be posted as it unfolds.

Wow I'm definitely psyched to see what the game will be like. Its a shame that I don't have a PS3 though, but hopefully I can get one at least sometime this year or the beginning of next year if the demo is comfirmed. As for the FXIII mobile game, Final Fantasy Agito XIII I doubt that it'll be released to cell phone carriers in America and other countries too. Just Japan most likely.

Even without a playable demo in the public, it will mean that we will have articles and hopefully videos of the demo. It is not the same, but it is better than nothing at this point. I want to see the combat in more depth, since it remains a question mark more or less. We know small amounts of details, but the demo should show us what to expect. I just hope that the demo is better than the FFXII demo.

I wouldn’t even mind a PS2 demo, but maybe won’t happen. But it could be a free thing that they could give away, to promote the PS3 and game.

Yeah I doubt it as well that Square would actually make a demo for the PS2. Definitely for the PS3. Oh, well.

On the other hand, I watched the link. It took a while for it to buffer but it has a lot of action based on what its showing. The battle system's weird though. I mean, can you do all those flips and kicks in battle or something? Hmm...pretty interesting. Anyways thanks for the link.

it would be great to get the demo of Final Fantasy 13, but that would mess up the fun of waiting for the actual release.
