Final Fantasy 3-What jobs are best?

There's around 23 jobs on Final Fantasy, but you only have 4 players! I find it very hard to choose which jobs make the best team. I just unlocked all of the jobs (Besides Onion Knight) and I need advice and help with deciding what would be the most efficient team. Right now I have a Dark Knight for Luneth, (I can't decide whether a Devout or Sage for Arc), Refia is a Geomancer, and Dragoon is for Ingus. What should I do to make my team better? What is the best job in this game that you would recommend?

hellbred takes classes from Quistis - (lv 2)
First and foremost, I would not dare enter the World of Darkness without a Sage or a Devout in my party. Only problem with MP-dependant jobs is that they do take higher damage and the MP usually run out before the enemy does (at the end of the game and on bosses, I mean).

After level 6 magic is required I'd dump the Red Mage since they can only use levels 1-5 magic.

Onion Knight is a great addition but you only reap the results after reaching the levels of 93/95ish - 99. Once level 99 is reached, they are basically the best IMO.

Geomancer's depend greatly on the job level. Defense isn't the best, plus they're limited to Bell's for weapons. However they can rely on their Terrain command which can produce some bad-ass spells and doesn't rely on MP.

Dark Knight's are balanced job classes. The Souleater command isn't thought of very highly by myself since it takes away from your own HP.

Dragoon's are great in my opinion once you get to level 55-99 because the Jump attack points are multiplied by 2.0-2.4 depending on your level.

The remaining low level jobs (you get at first) I wouldn't rely on, and the other jobs you aquire later you can use at your will.

I used these at the beginning of the game:
Red Mage
White Mage
Black Mage
Onion Knight (once aquired, start leveling this job early)

Once you can use all of these classes, or once entering the World of Darkness I would go with:
Sage or Devout
Devount or Sage (yes I used two)
Onion Knight
Dragoon

In the end it depends how you like to fight. I like Magic users regardless of their inability to take damage, but I also like have 1-2 guys who can hit hard without the use of Magic like a Warrior, Dark Knight, or a Dragoon.

(Thiefs are good at aquiring items and opening locked doors so u dont waste magic keys, but other than that I never found them very useful. Besides, Magic keys are cheap!)

david_pickett_84 has levelled up - (lv 1)
On my way though the game i grinded (ground?) levels hardcore and unlocked Onion Knight right away. It was pretty cool to be able to equip what ever i wanted and use an magic i wanted. It made the game pretty challenging becasue i had to have just the right stuff equiped because the base stats where so damn low.

Dark Knights are great for non-boss battles. At high levels, and from my experience (haven't gotten to level 99 with any character yet) they can easily wipe out a group of enemies, and they have high vitality.

Sages suck, Magus is a wasted class, since, really, you haven't played with elements since you battled Kraken, or even since Gutsco. Devouts are useful, if you need them.

Summoners are great, but why are they so great? I dunno, they seem so unfairly advantaged, other than lack of variety in their spells.

A team of Onion Knights is the best, but from what I've seen of leveling up, this isn't too easy to acquire.

Ninja is best for when you don't already do 9999 by means of normal attack. Dragoon is great. Jump can be very helpful, I flew threw much of the game jumping and crushing each boss. Black Belts are okay, Bosst isn't that noticeably advantageous...

THREE DRAGONS AND A BACK ROW DEVOUT. HUZZAH. BORING AUTOMATIC WIN GET.

I had quick question about the Dragoon job class, and I didn't want to start a new thread for it alone.

I've heard of people with a party of all Dragoon's, and I was wondering if anyone had a successful run at this? I don't believe they can cast magic if I'm correct so how does the team go about healing or defensive magic if it isn't applicable? Unless you always have a stock of 99 Hi-potions?
