Which of the two Kingdom Hearts games did you prefer?

Personally I preferred the first one because the combat in KH2 felt a little too "button bashing" and I don't think that Square-Enix made as good a use of the Disney license in KH2.

well i agree with that in some way i didnt like using enemy abilitys i loved the blocking and countering abilitys but would have liked to be able to combo abilitys rather that just combo basic attack, i loved the enemy AI though more advanced than KH1 since disney and square saw that more adults played KH1 so i liked that. i didnt like the fact that i didnt need to use summons again like in KH1 they really just slowed me down.

the music scores in KH2 was amazing just like KH1 i love that japanese singer, i forget her name but shes my favorite now what a voice. all the other music i loved also the battle music i loved.

graphics were very impressive build on KH1 engine with a few tweeks here and there for improved and faster battle. i didnt get though were the hell did all these keyblades come from all a sudden i know about soras and king mickeys, but what about rikus keyblade its not the one he used in KH1 because thats gone, and alos the keyblade that riku gives to kairi, i though the keyblade chose its master they took there time chosing.

all in all KH2 was better because i gave more of a challenge and was more exciting

Kh1 had the better worlds and the story was a little bit better also it required more thinking then Kh2.....Kh2 had better abilities and more characters from all around with a better combat system...I don't know I like them equally I guess....

Gameplay

Kingdom Hearts 1 wins this battle I just think it had more to it like the extras you could do and I agree with people saying that it felt alittle more of a button bashing game in Kingdom Hearts 2

Story

I think Kingdom Hearts 2 just had the better storyline I like it that you don't get to see all the characters appear till certain parts of the game and that the Final Fantasy characters had bigger roles in the second part plus loved that there was more than one enermy in this game

Music

I did'nt really like Kingdom Hearts 2 music at all I thought the main theme did'nt really suit the game aswell as the first game I think the score in the first game was out of this world and I actually brought the sound track it was sooo good

Graphics

Well Kingdom Hearts 2 won this but only because it came out later fairly obvious but still was amazing to see them improve on the first one

Overall

I would say Kingdom Hearts 2 just wins in my view I think it just built so well on the first one and maybe just give the battle system more depth then it will be the perfect game I can't wait for the next one (god knows which system it will be on)

1. kh1 had better summons. the summons sucked in kh2 i only used them to level them up for the coloseum

2. i liked the story like in kh2 better becasue it had more kh related story line and less dysney and yes the fact that there wernt just 2 sides, pluse it was more dramatic

3. the music was better in kh2 but the main theam wasent as good as kh1's

4. i liked the coloseum way better in kh1 becasue it was more of a chalange and the place u come if the story line bosses are to easy

5. i liked how they had a drives in kh2 it just mad it alot funner

6. i dident really like the world set up in kh1 buecasue it was jsut like a giant puzzle, u could actualy have fun in the kh2 worlds

I prefered Kingdom Hearts II. I found it much better than the first one and I really enjoyed it. It had great graphics. interesting and really long storyline and more enjoyable battles, sonce in most of them you cou;d perform a lot of different moves by pressing the triangle button. Also the new world added were great. I really loved Twilight Town although I really wanted to see Traverse Town again.
However, I believe that the first one had better music.
All in all, I loved both of them but I enjoyed the second one a little more. As for Chain of Memories, well it was a good game for GameBoy Advance but it's no match for the other two.

In my opinon KH2 had better game play, better camera view, and better side missions, but KH1 had a better storyboard, and boss fights. Both had great music and graphs.

I think KH2 took everything from the first and simply improved on it. Both games have their pros and cons, though. For one, the reaction commands in 2 were a neat surprise, and reminded me a bit of God of War. However, I hate how the block was made practically useless; it was one of the main staples of my fighting strategies in the first installment. Also, I cannot stand the new camera system. I loved using the shoulder buttons to guide the camera in KH1, and it drove me absolutely insane that I couldn't change it back in KH2.

Combat system in the second had a more button-masher feel to it, that's for sure. Especially when certain enemies could only be interrupted by the finishing blow of a combo! I felt like I was forced to unequip all my additional combo steps, and use fenrir. If you tried fighting with button mashing and no combos in the first, enemies would wipe the floor with you. However, I still think I prefer the second, due to the reaction commands and more cinematic feel, overall.

I enjoyed Kingdom Hearts II a lot more. For a lot of reasons. Personally, I felt that both games were really button bashing and they were really easy to get through, but KHII brought a lot more than KHI just couldn't for me.

The new characters were all really interesting, and the old ones were improved upon. Sora pissed me off to no end in the first game, but his design and personality were improved upon so I didn't mind him as much. (Still prefer other characters though. ) I actually ended up liking Roxas a lot more. Also, the inclusion of the Cloud - Tifa - Sephiroth thing just kind of added 50+ points for me X3;; (Huge Tifa fan. If that's not obvious yet.) And I also really liked the new designs too. A lot of them were cuter or overall cooler than before.

The only real downside I saw for characters was that you had to have played Chain of Memories to understand a lot of what was going on in relation to Organization and whatnot. CoM was a horrible game to me, I hated the gameplay and input cheats so I could just get the storyline lol. Don't really want to go through that crap again so story that was backed up in that area is kind of vague to me.

I really liked the storyline and character histories in this game. KHI was way too linear for my tastes, and too typical of a Disney story ... and at the same time, it felt like some characters were forced into a certain role just to fit that archetype. Although all the KHII romancey stuff was kind of overdone, it was still pretty cute. Lol, Roxas and Axel. (They were so gay for each other it's not even funny. Or well, Axel was gay for Roxas. Lawls.)

As for battle ... I liked the battle system. Like I said, it was all kind of button mashing to me but I liked the wider variety. Especially with the different forms ... only downside of that is, I'm pretty cheap so I hate to lose something-- I maxed all my forms and now, whenever I use them, I leave the world and come back so the gauge is full again. Hahah. 8D;; Also, for summons ... I never really used summons or magic that much in either I guess, but Stitch was so freaking cute!


Singer is Utada Hikaru by the way. I liked the opening song but it kind of got old for me after everyone and their mother repeated it about 800 times XD;; Other than that I don't really remember much of the music since I haven't played in ages. Lawl. Uh, also, I hate the American version of the KHII opening song. It sucks ass. So I don't know the words and can't comment on it lyric-wise compared to KHI's 8D;;

... I wonder if my baby cousin still has my KHI. >> ....

I'm a big fan of this song, and the abruptness of the beginning is a great start to it. I don't hear a lot of songs that begin that way. And the ending movie for KH1 still gets to me, especially the 'No, I don't think, life is quite that simple,' portion. A very powerful song, overall.

Passion/Sanctuary

It seems like I'm in the minority here, but I really like this song, as well. It really brought some of the cinematics together, in my opinion, with it's very sketchy sounding effects. In fact, I think it really matches the jerky movement, as well as the sort of empty feel, of the nobodies. I don't think any other style of song would have worked nearly as well as this one.
