Longest Chain

Hey guys, I was just wondering what's the highest chain you guys have gotten so far? My personal best is 42, gotta love the undead.

New: Got 159 in the Ogir-Yensa Sandsea fightin Urutan-Yensa

The only problem I foresee with this thread is that it's liable to become full of spam. Therefore, I'll allow it to stay open on a single condition:

Everyone only gets ONE post. That post can then be updated as your chains rise. Please include the location and enemy you used for your chain.

So far, my personal best is a chain of 218 on the Alraunes running back and forth between the Ogir-Yensa Sandsea and the Dalmasca Westersands.

Mine is only 35. I haven't tried much to get a good chain going, i tried to when i returned to town shortly but having Vossler in my party kept ruining my chances because he killed everything he saw.

Hopefully i can get it up, I'm takin a short break from the story at the moment to level up and get some clan hunts down so i'll see if i can get that number up.

EDIT: Just got to 218 in the Henne Mines fighting bats. I feel like i could do that all day..it's such a great place to get chains. Got around 50k worth of loot too

Yeah right now my best is 218 simply because I wanted to move on at that point. Later I will probably pick it up and go again, but for the time being anything over a hundred takes becoming nerve racking because it takes a while to reach and you don't want to lose it. So then you have to find reasons to break it. In my case, I was at 99 of one item and 60 and 40ish on the two other items. So other than LP and EXP, I was not getting full benefit and I was in there for the money more than anything.

57 or so. I kept killing Skeletons in the Lhusu Mines, and then a Bat flew in and my allies auto-targeted it and destroyed the chain. I was getting gil, healing, and good items. Damn the Bat!

Well this will be my last time posting here probably and that is because I hit the cap on chains. So I figured that I would share that with you all. I hit the cap at 999 chain. There does not seem to be any noticeable when you hit that level as being special. About all the reason to get up there is really bragging rights. If there is a bonus for being a 999 that would be nice, but I can't see it.

I got up to a little over 50. This chain thing seems kind of dumb and pointless to me. Whats so special about killing the same enemy over and over and over again. I will never actually attempt to get a high chain. If it happens then it happens.

There are several benefits to getting chains, first the more chains you will hit chain levels. At those those levels things change. The biggest one is that you get more drops the more levels you have. Other things that happen are that drops will heal your HP or MP or give your party protect or shell. The longer it goes the better your drops, that is the biggest one. So if you are looking to make gil, chains are the fastest way too that. Also I believe that your exp increases, but I can't be certain about that.

I just got 90 at the Yensa-SandSea fighting off those weaklings that reside there. (I'm sorry, I'm at a loss for the name of the race that lives there)
