American FF12 on PAL console

I wasn't to sure were else I could post this but its to do with FF12 so I may as well put it here.

For some reason i'm very amped to get this game and I was just going to ask that if I bought a chip for my Playstation to play games from America like FF12 I was wandering if it would be able to save on my memory card or would it not work?

Sorry I can't help but I thoguht I might ask this question. What's a PAL version and what's the difference between the original version of a game?

ah its cool I got a while to find out my answer lol like 6 weeks till Oct 31st ^^

But the only REAL difference is that is formatted onto a different disk which is why I need to get a chip to play games without region problems. Its not so much being able to play the game that i'm worried about on the PS2 i'm just not sure if the European and American memory cards are any different in the way they store the memory....I sure hope not or its like $350 down the drain lol.

Yeah that would suck paying all that money.Anyways the wait is hard, I know trust me, espicially in America een though its not that faraway.It seems like forever.You probably could,but like I said I don't know, but thanks for telling me.

Well, I couldn't find a definitive answer but when I checked amazon, none of the memory cards have regional formatting listed. So I'm fairly certain that yours will work with the US version of the game.

Personally I wouldn't want to modify my PS2 for a single game because of the chance that something may be damaged in the process. I'm somewhat fanatic about maintaining my consoles and would never intentionally risk damage to 'em. That's just me though. I'm not a risk-taker with my electronics.

lol thats cool but I receeived a posted on another forum saying that there are regional capabilities on memory cards which won't allow me to save a US game. This is really weird lol I got myself interested i'm gonna go check it out more.

Also I understand where your coming from but the amount I paid for my PS2 was like 200 bucks and it came with 2nd controller memory card and 2 games LOL.

I don't think it would work if you didn't have an American memory card. Because I think they make different PS2's in each different country.
