to get gil go to a place with lots of the same kind of people such as the sand people from the yensa sandsea or the place on the plains to jahara with all the werewolf like monsters and chain as high as you can to get lots of loot.

First, make Grimoires appear in bazaar goods. To do that, repeatedly talk to merchants of all kinds and look at information boards with Mark Hunts. I don't remember how many times You have to do it for each Grimoire but You can check it at GameFAQs and while You are at it check also for which Grimoire is which Monograph. The first Monograph to purchase should be the one that increases loot drops from beasts because those are the most numerous.
This way You will get enough Gil to buy all the other Grimoires. Just don't buy the other bazzar goods, stick to the weapons and armour You find and receive in quests, and focus Your AP into stat upgrades and Quickenings.
Chaining is really the only way to go to acquire good loot and the best place I found was in Stilshrine of Miriam after You defeat Zeromus esper. When You go back to that room, You will find it swarming with skeletons that drop Blood-darkened Bones and Dark gems. Visit the room three times to get 99 Blood-darkened Bones.
It takes about 20-25 minutes and the loot's worth is over 140 000 Gil.

well early on in the game lhusu mines is a great place to level up and get plenty of gil, because numerous skeletons and skull defenders appear on the shunia twinspan, you can pick up bone fragments which can be sold for 193 gil, this enables you to build up battle chains to about 30 by simply re-entering the two zones.

when reaching about level 20 golmore jungle is a good place to get gil, panthers on the paths of chained light, will drop coeurl belts which can be sold for 454 gil, u will also gain 2,000 points of experience.

a great trick at about level 34 is to enter the salikwood and steal valuble loot from king bomb located in grand bower, you will recive 896 gil for a bomb fragment and 1911 gil for a bomb shell, after each succesful attempt simply leave the zone and re-enter to steal again.

at around level 40 visit the feywood and crate a chain of defeating mirrorknights you can approximitly earn around 200, 000 gil an hour.

however the greatest strategy is to visit henne mine at around 65+ and activate the switch at pithead junction c, 10 abysteels will appear these foes are dangerous so intruct all 3 chracters to send them to sleep with sleepa, use the gambit combanation- foe: nearest visible- sleepa and foe: status = sleep- curaga. you'll make things eaiser if you cast faith status on your entire party, use equipment with high evade rating such as the zodiac shield. After defeating all of the enemies change the switch to red and go to phase 2 shaft and crossover c, then return, you can earn more than 1,000,000 exp/gil per hour with this strategy.

hope this helps!
