Any suggestions for getting the hidden summons?
do ya just have to battle the creatures that give them to you a lot? i mean, my [u]very[u] first battle i bumped into imps and got the imp summon. so, is it just random?

When dealing with imps, cockatrices and mindflayers. Yes, they are dropped at random by these monsters. However, there are other monster types which allow you to obtain them...mostly enemies of the same type but variants.

Only advice any other FFIV player can really give you is to keep trying. The "drop rate" on those items on the various monsters that drop is is slotted into the 1/64 line I believe.. been a while since I really looked into it. Alternatively if you are playing FFIV on a ROM, you could play around with some Game Genie codes and get them that way. Getting them legit gives you that sense of accomplishment tho, heh.
Out of those additional summons? Cocatrice, Flayer, Bomb, Imp? I found Bomb to be the only real use. The damage is based off Rydia's current MAXHP. So if she is at full health at around 3500HP? the Bomb summon will do 3300-4000 easy. Handy to have all the same.

Just keep on fighting them like other people mentioned. I guess it depends on the drop rate and luck.

its 1/64 chance i have gob and cockatrice so heres how i did it
Goblin-Go to baron and kill gobs their soon theyll drop it Cockatrice-if you did gob first sometimes birds will show up there they might drop it or go to mount hobs and kill the cockatrices there |
