Pal & Ntsc

As some of you may know the differance, NTSC is the America and maybe 1 or 2 other countries but I am not sure and PAL is everywhere else. I of course have a PAL PS2 which basically means I don't get quite as much games BUT we don't have to deal with flawed products and we normally get the 2nd version which is slightly improved and/or the special edition is our main release.

The reason I bring this up is because there is a growing amount of good games such as FFT and Valkyrie Profile that don't get released to PAL, mind you there is even more from Japan that don't get released. Anyway I was thinking of getting a console, I haven't seen a converter but if anybody knows which one to get that would be awesome. Also does anybody know what other games didn't get released?

if it is the tv that is the problem you can get a pal-ntsc and vice verse plug thing

I think pal applys 2 europe and some countrys around europe, but why do we need to types it would be better if they all were pal.

there have been tons of games that america got and we in europe didnt like the early FF games like ff3

PAL applies to most of Europe, most of the Middle East, South East Asia, Africa and Australia. I'm not sure you can convert your PS or PS2 to play NTSC games unless you use an illegal chip that is installed inside.
I don't know where to get these, and even if I did I wouldn't post it, due to the fact that they are illegal. But things are looking up. THE PS3 IS REGION-FREE!

I believe they went against making the Ps3 region free but I read that a few months ago so I don't know what they have decided for now.

I forgot about those convertor CDs, I don't know if they work but I saw them fairly cheap. But I don't want to spend my money ordering a game from overseas and find it doesn't work

I live in europe and I own both PS and PS2. The first one is bought here and the 2nd one is brought from the US. The 1st one is "HACKED" by using big brains good hands and some skill by instaling a so called chip on it so that it would play the CDs no mater the region and also play pirate cds without damage to the PS it self.
You see normal CDs have a special play rate which is written somewhere on them, not sure where, pirate CDs on the other hand are made ileagaly and do not have such a thing which can cause the console to play it on the highest speed posible as a default, which ofcorse will cause damage to the CD and to the drive.
The trick with the NTSC/PAL is that you CAN convert NTSC to PAL but not the other way. Thats why I bought a NTFC PS2 so I can stick 3 feet of the microchip together and get PAL instead of NTSC but if you have enough money just consider bying a new tv which suports both!
The zone trick in PS2 is hard to get, and even harder to get right! It is prowided only by manipulation of signal which is done only by those who know something about it...in other words dont waste your time trying if you dont have enough skill
I would adwise just bying a PS in a region which games you do or will play most.

I have a PAL PS2 but I chipped it so it can play NTSC and PAL, saves alot of time searching for a PAL copy, you should try getting your PS2 chipped or using a converter.
