Since thre isnt a thread on Dirge of Cerebrus yet I thought Id make one. This is a forum to talk abotu anything that has to do with the game just follow the board rules and keep it civil. please.


Ok, this game is coming out for PS2 on the 15th of August. I dont know about you but Vincent is my favorite FFVII character so i'm hella excited. Anybody know anything about the game other than what the reviews have told me. Apparently he can use his limit breaks and turn into the demon things. But can you control him???

I saw the gameplay for this game and it honestly looks like a mediocre game. Square is milking FFVII way too much, im not buying this game unless it gets high scores from reviewers. I may rent it, but i dont know.

I cant wait for DoC, playing as Vincent is so great and the gameplay is extremely like Devil May Cry and that should make a unique combination. Ive seen tons of DoC Gameplay and trailers via youtube, gamespot, ign etc and it looks stunning, the graphics are nice and the gameplay looks great as ever. Cant wait for this game.

im not sure abou this game my self. i hate the whole complitation of ff7. this game is one of he best if not the best in the series. se did not have to ruin this great game with all these spinoffs to make a few extra bucks. se said that they are diong dog to show they can do more than rpg's. personnaly i would have waited for a remake of the original game before i did these spinnoffs.and if sqaure was going to do a spinoff then i would have done ff8.
its not the best in the series and they could've in corparted the gunblade feature in the game which sound really cool.ff 8 would not have been ruined by mediocre ff games as it was one itself(sorry ff8 fanboys).

personnaly i like the whole complitation of ff7 seeing as after the game i wanted more. bu theese games are mediocre and are not gatting much attention a serious ff game takes a couple years to make and who knows in what kind of time they put this together in. yes advent children was good but 60 hour game= 2hour sequel... well you get the point.

please se lay off the crappy sequels. if ur going to make a sequel make itbetter than the first one. when i play the second game its always compared to the first. a more realistic idea is make a two part game. an average ff is 50 hours of game play.50x 2= 100 hours of gameplay!. they should do something like xenosaga( except not make it the worst game ive ever played) and make a 2 part or even 3 part sereies. thats if they wre to do any type of sequel id rather just have one game but wahtever.
th reason ff sequels would suck so bad is at the end of every ff the problem was solved. a squel is not need because there would be no massive undertaking

The reason they are doing these spin-offs for FFVII is because it was the most popular FF (atleast in the US). FFVII is the most popular, not the best FF, and the reason it is the most popular is because most fans started out with it. FFVIII is by NO means a mediocre game... it has recieved high scores from reviewers and much praise from fans, so FFVIII is not mediocre for sure. As for the spin offs of FVII, they most likely wont be very good games but im not certain.

It doesn't look like that great of a game. Can you say milking the franchise? It might be an OK game, but if it actually lives up to the hype I'll take back what I'm saying. I like how Square is making more FF games, but can't they see they're going over the top with FF VII. If they're doing all this for VII, why can't they do the same for VIII or IX? Oh, because VII rules all and VIII and IX can't even touch VII? AC was good, but this is ridiculous.

Maybe it'll be OK, but I don't think it'll be better than just average to a first time player of FF games. This seems like a game only for die hard FF VII fans.

I'm not actually particularly interestedi n the gameplay. Much like GunGrave, it looks liek its going to be repetative action followed by brief bouts of attempted stylishness, with an ass load of story.

The STORY is what I'm interested in. So far it sounds absoultely BRILLIANT...in fact I'd even say BETTER than the story they cooked up for Advent Children. In many ways Dirge seems like a sequel that has the potnetial to be truer to the original game than the movie was.

But we'll wait and see, wait and see.

Im so excited! It comes out in 6 days! Im not a BIG fan of FPS' but I do think that Square is going in a good dirrection with this. I with though, that they would stop milking out FF7 so much, maybe switch to another. I am really excited though, the only problem is...IM BROKE = (

Its gonna be a GREAT game, the graphics and gameplay are INCREDABLE.

I think the grphics are going 2 be really good and the game is going 2 be really fun because characters from VIII and VII are going 2 be in it.(I think this is the right game were VIII and VII cahackters are going 2 be in)

I'm actually not going to care about the gameplay in this instance because I'm a big fan of Final Fantasy 7 and I'm a collection junkie. I'll probably rush out to get FF7: Crisis Core also. If the story and music are tight and the characters (other than the one everyone already knows about) are well done I can forgive any shotting game play set backs.

My copy is already purchased (along with the strategy guide). Even if it winds up being a bit watered down (which I doubt), I am a collector, so either way, I'll be happy with it.

Guess we'll (Americans) find out later today if it'll live up to it's hype.
